Multiple airlines add direct flights between KCI and Vegas for Super Bowl

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Looking to go to Vegas to support the Chiefs? Well, United Airlines added six direct flights between Kansas City and Las Vegas.

They are considered special direct flights, celebrating the win by having each with special flight numbers celebrating the team’s most popular players and fans.

Chiefs dominate Ravens to head to second straight Super Bowl

The names of each flight are:

  • UA 1587 – Named after Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce’s Jersey Numbers

  • UA 1989 – Named after the album of the Chiefs’ popular fan Taylor Swift

  • UA 2287 – Named after Swift’s hit song and Kelce’s jersey number to celebrate the Chiefs’ power couple

This year, United is flying its largest special schedule for the Big Game in its history, adding 40+ flights system-wide and flying larger aircraft, which can get 14,000 more fans across the country to Vegas for the big game.

Tickets are on sale now on United.com and the United app and as more than a quarter of all flights to the Super Bowl will be purchased in the next two weeks.

American Airlines has also added extra flights.

The airline has added a total of seven direct flights between the two cities from Feb. 8 – 13.

This is in addition to other flights that offer connections through American’s hub cities and additional flights that the airline launched for the Big Game last year.
