UNC Basketball offers top prospect in 2025 recruiting class

Hubert Davis and the North Carolina Tar Heels have entered the race for the top overall prospect in the 2025 recruiting class.

On Wednesday, the Tar Heels officially offered five-star forward AJ Dybantsa, the recruit announced via X. The Prolific Prep star is out of Napa, California and now has a total of 15 offers in his recruitment and that number will continue to grow.

Dybantsa is ranked as the top overall prospect, holding offers from USC, Alabama, Michigan, UConn, Texas, and now North Carolina among other programs.

The 6-foot-9, 200-pound recruit is ranked No. 1 overall, the No. 1 small forward and No. 1 player in the state of California per the 247Sports recruiting rankings. He’s the ninth player to earn an offer from the Tar Heels as they are still seeking that first commitment.

With a very good 2024 class that features five-star recruits Ian Jackson and Drake Powell as well as four-star recruit James Brown, landing another big class in 2025 is a priority for Hubert Davis and the UNC staff. Now, they are shifting their priority to that class and the top prospect overall.
