Tyreek Hill says any chatter about Dolphins trading Jaylen Waddle is ‘ludicrous'

Tyreek Hill has an opinion on talk that the Dolphins should trade receiver Jaylen Waddle to Kansas City for cornerback Trent McDuffie: It’s Greek to me.

Hill also says it’s “ludicrous.”

Hill chimed in via social media Wednesday during a trip to Greece, which clearly isn’t far enough away from South Florida to shield him from chatter started by Mike Tannenbaum, who once ran the Dolphins’ front office but now is an analyst on ESPN. Tannenbaum floated the trade based on the idea that the Dolphins would need a cornerback opposite Jalen Ramsey if they part with Xavien Howard. And the Chiefs could use another target for Patrick Mahomes.

Adding McDuffie would give Miami two Pro Bowl-caliber corners. It also would create a need for WR2 to replace Waddle. But, the theory goes, finding a starting receiver is easier than finding a top-level cornerback.

Hill, however, would like to nix the whole idea.

“I’m all the way in Greece right now and I get on Twitter to see people talking crazy about dolphin football,” Hill wrote.

He was just getting started.

“My boy waddle is the future, he is better than I was at this point in his career and for people in this fan base to want to trade him is ludicrous,” Hill wrote.

His final post: “Him and Tua was special before me and will be special after I leave.”

Waddle, who won’t turn 26 until November, had 1,014 yards in 14 games this season to become the first player in team history with three consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons. For his career, he has 3,385 yards and 18 TDs.

Three seasons into his career, Hill had 3,255 receiving yards and 25 touchdowns. He also was named All-Pro two of those years.

McDuffie, a first-round pick in 2022, won’t turn 24 until September. He was named an All-Pro corner this season despite not having any interceptions. He forced five fumbles.

Hill, incidentally, is about a week away from turning 30.
