Twitter reacts to Marquez Valdes-Scantling’s brutal drop vs. Bengals
Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs offense had a great chance to score a touchdown against the Cincinnati Bengals just before halftime in Week 17 before veteran wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling dropped a pass near the red zone that could have turned into a touchdown.
The brutal drop came after the Chiefs marched downfield with just minutes remaining in the second quarter. Isiah Pacheco ripped off a huge run to get the drive started, but Kansas City had to settle for a field goal after Valdes-Scantling’s latest blunder in a key situation.
Few players have let Mahomes and the Chiefs down more this year than the beleaguered receiver, who accounts for the sixth-biggest cap hit on Kansas City’s payroll.
Fans on social media didn’t hold back in voicing their discontent with Valdes-Scantling after his miscue derailed Kansas City’s offensive momentum.
