Tupelo teams split pair at Earlsboro

Nov. 21—EARLSBORO — Don't look now, but new Tupelo girls coach DJ McGee and the Lady Tigers have quietly put together back-to-back wins after a rough start to the season.

The latest victory came Friday night at Earlsboro when the Lady Tigers rolled to a 62-21 win.

In the boy's contest, Earlsboro used a big stretch over the middle to quarters and coasted past Tupelo 54-37.

The Tigers dropped to 2-4 on the year, while the Wildcats stayed unbeaten at 4-0.

"I thought we played well against a very big and physical opponent," said THS boys coach Clay Weller. "We defended them really well. We've got to figure out how to get some more scoring and ball handling out of some of our more experienced players."

Both THS clubs are at Milburn following Thanksgiving break on Nov. 28.
