Tulare County's top high school spring sports performers for Week 7

The Times-Delta/Advance-Register will recognize Tulare County's top high school sports performers on a weekly basis this school year.

Coaches, please submit your results/top performers after each game, match or meet to sports reporter Vongni Yang at vyang2@gannett.com to have players highlighted.

This story will be updated throughout the week with that information.

March 21

Boys golf

  • Gavin Wilson, Tulare Union: Wilson shot a 74 at the West Yosemite League mini-tournament hosted by Mission Oak.

  • Ezra Martinez, Tulare Union: Martinez scored an 80.

  • Robbie Correia, Tulare Union: Correia also had an 80.

  • Adrian Tristao, Tulare Western: Tristao carded an 85 to pace the Mustangs.

  • Jett Freitas, Mission Oak: Freitas finished with an 88.

March 20

Baseball

  • Erik Rico, Redwood: The winning pitcher, Rico fired a no-hitter, striking out eight in a complete game to lead the Rangers to an 8-0 win over Porterville.

  • Jaxon Griffiths, Redwood: Griffiths went a perfect 3-for-3 hitting, including a double, with a run scored, four RBI and a walk.

  • Wyatt McElree, Redwood: McElree had two hits, including a double, and knocked in two runs with a run scored.

  • Shane Travioli, Redwood: Travioli had a hit, run and RBI.

  • Cruz Rodriguez, Redwood: Rodriguez added a hit and RBI.

  • C.J. Ramos, Redwood: Ramos generated a hit, run, walk and was hit by a pitch.

  • Troy Loftin, El Diamante: Loftin registered three hits with two RBIs, three stolen bases and a run. The Miners defeated Monache 9-6.

  • Matthew Dykstra, El Diamante: Dykstra hit a double and scored a run and pushed across another.

  • Cole Martinez, El Diamante: Martinez blasted three hits with a double and two runs.

  • Sebastian Aiello: Aiello had a hit, two stolen bases, two RBIs and a run.

  • Eli Palomino: Palomino tossed 2 2/3 shutout innings.

Boys tennis

  • Jacob Yang, Redwood: Yang delivered a 7-5, 6-7 (6-8), 1-0 (10-3) win at No. 1 singles to lead the Rangers to a 5-4 win over Clovis North.

  • Dominic Nguyen, Redwood: Nguyen registered a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles.

  • Yong Lee, Redwood: Lee had a 6-4, 6-3 victory at No. 5 singles.

  • Seth Degn, Redwood: Degn was victorious at No. 6 singles, winning 5-7, 6-3, 1-0 (10-3).

Boys golf

  • Gavin Wilson, Tulare Union: Wilson shot a 71 at the Tulare Golf Tournament. He placed fourth as an individual.

Baseball

  • William Masterson, Tulare Western: Masterson fired a complete game with nine strikeouts as the Mustangs shut out Dinuba 4-0. He gave up six hits.

  • Jace Cuellar, Tulare Western: Cuellar knocked in the game-winning RBI.

  • Ezra Beavers, Tulare Western: Beavers had a hit and RBI.

  • Blake Crawford, Tulare Western: Crawford smacked a two-run homer.

  • Zach Simmon, Central Valley Christian: Simmon struck out five in six innings in a 5-4 loss to Kerman in eight frames. He surrendered seven hits but just one earned run.

  • Landon Holloway, CVC: Holloway went 3-for-4 hitting with two RBIs.

  • Brody Pimental, CVC: Pimental had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs and a run scored.

  • Tanner Garnett, Exeter: Garnett earned the win on the mound in an 8-7 win over Sierra Pacific.

  • Cade McElmoyl, Exeter: McElmoyl picked up his third save of the season.

  • Ruben Ruiz, Exeter: Ruiz pounded a three-run double.

  • Gunner Lentz, Exeter: Lentz had a double.

  • Truett Pettyjohn, Redwood: Pettyjohn hurled four strikeouts in five innings to help the Rangers shut out Porterville 12-0.

  • Nate Ramirez, Redwood: Ramirez earned the save with two strikeouts in a couple of frames.

  • Wyatt McElree, Redwood: McElree went 2-for-3 hitting with two runs, three RBIs, a double and a walk.

  • Isaac Esquivel, Redwood: Esquivel had three hits, a run, RBI and stolen base.

  • Cruz Rodriguez, Redwood: Rodriguez added a pair of hits, two runs and a stolen base.

  • C.J. Ramos, Redwood: Ramos had a hit, a run, two RBIs and a walk.

  • Vincent Barba, Redwood: Barba finished with a hit, a run, two RBIs and a stolen base.

  • Jaxon Griffiths, Redwood: Griffiths had a hit, run, RBI and walk.

  • Erik Rico, Redwood: Rico scored two runs and drew a pair of walks.

  • Easton Rogers, Redwood: Rogers had three walks and scored twice.

Boys tennis

  • Jacob Yang, Redwood: Yang earned a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles over Central Valley Christian's Ian De Jong. The Rangers beat the Cavaliers 9-0.

  • Dominic Nguyen, Redwood: Nguyen won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles.

  • Tanner Richardson, Redwood: Richardson had a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 3 singles.

  • Tyler Sapasap, Redwood: Sapasap recorded a 6-1, 7-5 win at No. 4 singles.

  • Yong Lee, Redwood: Lee turned in a 6-1, 7-6 (7-3) decision at No. 5 singles.

  • Seth Degn, Redwood: Degn completed the singles sweep by the Rangers with a 6-1, 6-3 victory at No. 6 singles.
