Tulare County's top high school spring sports performers for Week 6

The Times-Delta/Advance-Register will recognize Tulare County's top high school sports performers on a weekly basis this school year.

Coaches, please submit your results/top performers after each game, match or meet to sports reporter Vongni Yang at vyang2@gannett.com to have players highlighted.

This story will be updated throughout the week with that information.

March 14

Baseball

Justin Cuellar, Tulare Western: Cuellar did not allow a hit in 6 1/3 innings to lead the Mustangs to a 2-1 win over Mission Oak. He tossed a dozen strikeouts to earn the win on the mound.

Landon Peredo, Tulare Western: Peredo went 2-for-3, including a double, and knocked in the game-winning RBI.

William Masterson, Tulare Western: Masteron picked up the save, tossing a strikeout with a run allowed in 2/3 of an inning.

Aidan Robertson, Exeter: Robertson improved to 5-0 as the Monarchs edged Reedley 4-3. He fired six innings and gave up three earned runs.

Cade McElmoyl, Exeter: McElmoyl had the save.

Cade Mac, Exeter: Mac registered two hits.

Ruben Ruiz, Exeter: Ruiz blasted a double.

Logan Montano, Exeter: Montano went 1-for-3 hitting.

March 13

Baseball

Nate Ramirez, Redwood: Ramirez was the winning pitcher after tossing two strikeouts with one hit in three scoreless innings. The Rangers opened East Yosemite League play with a 2-0 shutout win against El Diamante in 10 innings.

Erik Rico, Redwood: Rico, the starting pitcher, fired nine strikeouts in seven no-hit innings.

Jaxon Griffiths, Redwood: Griffiths, a lefty, delivered the game-winning RBI double in the 10th inning.

Wyatt McElree, Redwood: McElree went 1-for-4 hitting and scored a run.

Hunter Kittinger, Redwood: Kittinger registered two hits in five at-bats.

Vincent Barba, Redwood: Barba had a hit.

Cruz Rodriguez, Redwood: Rodriguez was hit by two pitches and also got on base via walk.

Colin Horton, El Diamante: Horton pitched eight scoreless innings in a three-strikeout performance. He issued three walks and allowed just three hits.

March 9

Baseball

Kevin Baldwin, El DIamante: Baldwin fired a strikeout and surrendered just one hit in two innings to secure the Miners' 2-1 win over Clovis West at the Coca-Cola Classic.

Nick Reynoso, El Diamante: Reynoso picked up the save. He gave up a hit in one frame.

Colin Horton, El Diamante: Horton pitched a strikeout in 2 2/3 innings.

Jordan Rhyner, El Diamante: Rhyner delivered a strikeout and gave up a hit and run in 1 1/3 innings.

Caleb Silva, El Diamante: Silva added a hit.

Elijah Contreras, El DIamante: Contreras finished with a hit and run scored.

Aden Robles, El Diamante: Robles hit a triple and knocked in a run and scored another.

Kelan Turner, Central Valley Christian: Turner registered a pair of hits, including a double, and had two RBIs, a run and a walk in an 8-7 loss to Ripon Christian.

Brody Pimental, CVC: Pimental smashed a RBI double and also drew a walk and scored a run.

Teague Brandenburg, CVC: Brandenburg went 3-for-5 hitting with a run.

March 8

Baseball

Cruz Rodriguez, Redwood: Rodriguez cruised to winning pitcher status, allowing just one run in four innings as the Rangers topped Bullard 3-2. As a hitter, he also had a hit and a run scored.

Jack Volchko, Redwood: Volchko hurled three strikeouts 2 1/3 innings for the hold.

Truett Pettyjohn, Redwood: Pettyjohn picked up the save.

Wyatt McElree, Redwood: McElree hit an RBI double.

C.J. Ramos, Redwood: Ramos had a hit and RBI.

Isaac Esquivel, Redwood: Esquivel finished with two hits and a stolen base.

Erik Rico, Redwood: Rico chipped in a hit and run.

Jaxon Griffiths, Redwood: Griffiths rounded the bases once.
