Tuesday's Top Prep Performers: Oaks Christian wins Marmonte League boys golf title

Highlights from Tuesday in high school sports:

BOYS GOLF

  • Oaks Christian won the sixth and final Marmonte League tournament with a 2-under 358 at River Ridge Golf Club. The Lions won all six league tournaments and finished 169 shots ahead of second-place Westlake to win the league championship. Graham Christopher shot a 4-under 68 to earn medalist honors, Jared Abercrombie shot a 2-under 70, Max Emberson had a 1-under 71, and Morgan McDonough shot an even-par 72. Emberson won the league's individual title and league MVP by finishing the four-day individual tournament with a 14-under 274. Abercrombie and Christopher tied for second at 282 and Nick Benton finished with a 301 as all four players qualified for the CIF-SS Individual tournament. Oaks Christian will play in the Division 1 team tournament on Monday in Temecula. Cooper Greenwood of Agoura — which finished fourth as a team in the final round — shot a 2-under 69 to advance to the CIF-SS Individuals.

  • Adam Anderson and Brady McHenry of Buena each finished with a two-day total of 4-under 140 to tie for second place at the Channel League Individual Championships and qualify for the CIF-SS Individual tournament. Shams Jahangir-Arshad of San Marcos won the individual title with a 13-under 131.

  • Morgan Wolff was the medalist with a 78, Raj Hundal shot a 79, Tyler Meister and Shane Frank each finished with an 82, and Tristan Straw had an 86 as Camarillo improved to 8-0 in Coastal Canyon League play with a 407-451 victory over Royal at par-71 Las Posas Country Club. Jack Parkinson shot an 85 and Jack Mols had an 86 for the Highlanders (2-6).

SOFTBALL PLAYOFFS

  • Sophomore Sophia Romero was 2 for 3 with two stolen bases and sophomore Kayden Sanchez allowed just four hits while striking out nine in the circle, but Santa Clara fell 2-1 at Huntington Beach-Ocean View in the Division 5 wild-card round. Bela Nava and Sara Briones also had hits for the Saints, who end their season at 10-12.

GIRLS LACROSSE PLAYOFFS

  • Oaks Christian defeated visiting Portola 16-4 in a Division 2 wild-card game. Elizabeth Hilbert scored six goals, Sophia Vasquez had five goals, and Julia Forsyth had three goals and seven draw controls to lead the Lions, who will play at Anaheim-Canyon in a first-round game on Thursday.

  • Lauren Reed had six goals, three assists and three ground balls, Amanda Borg had four goals, three assists and five ground balls, and Morgan Arrasmith had three goals and an assist as Royal defeated host Yorba Linda 18-7 in a Division 2 wild-card match. Miranda Torres made five saves on 12 shots for the Highlanders, who will play at Irvine-Woodbridge in a first-round game on Thursday.

BOYS LACROSSE PLAYOFFS

  • Gavin Dyet had eight goals and two assists, Kieron Brennan had three goals and Drew Spar scooped up 11 ground balls as host Agoura pounded Huntington Beach-Edison 15-4 Monday in the Division 2 wild-card round. The Chargers (13-3) visit Chino-Santiago in Wednesday's first round.

BOYS TENNIS PLAYOFFS

  • Thacher beat Nordhoff in games, 73-61, after the teams tied in sets, 9-9, in a Division 3 wild-card match. The Toads played at St. Margaret's in a first-round match Wednesday.
