In the girls meet, D.C. Everest took first place in the 100-meter dash (Ellia Roble, :12.70), the 800 (Sara Mlodik, 2:26.25), the 1,600 (Sara Mlodik, 5:23.47), the 3,200 (Mara Selting, 12:12.39), the 100 hurdles (Megan Zemke, :15.46), the 300 hurdles (Megan Zemke, :47.02), the 400 relay (:50.26) and the triple jump (Elaina Kamke, 32-8).

Wausau West won the 800 relay (1:44:44) and the 3,200 relay (10:21.81). Caitlin Aschbrenner won the long jump (16-9).

Wausau East’s Lily Clifford won the shot put (36-6.5).

Merrill got a first-place finish in the 200 (Madison Crossman, :26.25) and in the 1,600 relay (3:55.40).

Newman Catholic’s Mel Severson won the 400 (:59.59). Evie Bates won the high jump (5-0). Sidney Galang won the pole vault (9-6).

Mosinee’s Bekah Bouton won the discus (115-2).

In the boys meet, D.C. Everest got first-place finishes in the 100 (Arlin Sangster, :11.31), the 3,200 (Adam Gage, 10:37.35), the 110 hurdles (Blake Postler, :15.11), the 300 hurdles (Blake Postler, :38.83), the 400 relay (:43.54), the 1,600 relay (3:37.65), the triple jump (Arlin Sangster, 42-9), the pole vault (Matt Nielsen, 14-0), the discus (Cole Stevens, 160-6) and the shot put (Cole Stevens, 58-1.5).

Wausau East won the 200 (Brady Prihoda, :23.30), the 800 (Erek Ross, 2:01.37), the 1,600 (Erek Ross, 4:50.84), the 800 relay (1:35.03) and the high jump (Logan Mouw, 6-0).

Wausau West took first in the 400 (Carter Amerson, :51.59), the 3,200 relay (8:54.22) and the long jump (Carter Amerson, 20-8.25).

In the girls meet, Colby got first-place finishes in the 100 (Hayden Willner, :17.15), the 300 hurdles (Hayden Willner, :48.65), the 3,200 (MaKenna Herrmann, 12:59.29), the discus (Daelyn Rieck, 115-1) and the shot put (Daelyn Rieck, 37-3.5).

Pitttsville won the 800 (Reese Grimm, 2:30.91).

Auburndale won the 400 relay (:54.45).

In the boys meet, Mason Gay won the 1,600 (4:43.89) for Owen-Withee. Nathan Zarins won the discus (136-2) and the shot put (44-0).

Auburndale’s Mason White Eagle won the high jump (6-0).

Colby’s Caden Healy won the 200 (:23.49) and the long jump (20-7.25). Ivan Haemer won the triple jump (39-8).

Tomah Justinger Invitational

Participating teams: Adams-Friendship, Sparta, Nekoosa, Wonewoc Center, Tomah, Reedsburg.

In the girls meet, Evy Shaw took first in the 100 for Adams-Friendship (:13.42). Isabel Britton won the discus (96-7). Adams-Friendship also won the 3,200 relay (11:20.54).

Nekoosa had no first-place finishes in the girls meet.

In the boys meet, Nekoosa’s Aiden Nedzuak won the high jump (5-8), the long jump (19-7.75) and the triple jump (41-0.5).

Adams-Friendship did not have any first-place finishes in the boys meet.

SOFTBALL

Mosinee 11, Rhinelander 4

RHINELANDER - Emily Verhasselt had two hits, including a double, and drove in four runs to lead Mosinee to the win over the Hodags.

Martina Miller added two hits for Mosinee. Adeline Strejc drove in two runs.

Auburndale 8, Marathon 4

MARATHON - The Eagles scored four times in the top of the seventh to break a 4-4 tie en route to the Marawood Conference win.

Ashlyn Grimm pitched the final three innings to get the win, walking three, allowing two runs, while striking out seven. Samantha Stanton started, pitching four innings for Auburndale, allowing two runs, while striking out two. She did not walk a batter.

Leading the Eagles’ offense were Mya Krings, who was 2-for-5 with a double, triple and two RBIs. Erin Griesbach had two RBIs, including a solo homer in the seventh. Samantha Stanton was 2-for-4 with a double.

Marathon was paced by Katie LeBlanc, who was 2-for-4 with two runs scored, and Bridget Salber, who was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

With the win, Auburndale moved to 6-3 in the Marawood-South and 10-3 overall.

Stratford 2, Edgar 1

STRATFORD - Lexie Christopherson led off the ninth with a single and scored on a single by Laney Pankratz and an outfield error as the Tigers earned the Marawood Conference-South victory.

Edgar had scored a run in the top of the first, but Stratford answered with a run in the bottom of the second to tie it at 1-1. The game remained that way until the ninth.

Athens 9, Chequamegon 1

ATHENS - The Bluejays scored the game’s first nine runs and cruised to the Marawood Conference-North win.

Jazelle Hartwig had the hot bat for Athens, going 3-for-3 with a triple, four RBIs and two runs scored. Addison Lavicka was 2-for-4 with an RBI, and Abby Diethelm was 2-for-3, including a double.

Danica Diethelm picked up the win, pitching 6⅔ innings, allowing two hits, one earned run and six walks with six strikeouts.

Merrill 5, D.C. Everest 4 (Monday)

MERRILL – Lexi Olhoff scored on a wild pitch with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to complete a four-run rally as Merrill upset D.C. Everest 5-4 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference softball game.

With two outs and a runner on first, a walk and consecutive singles by Sophie Wendorf, Olhoff and Emma Frazier tied the game. A wild pitch led the winning run coming across.

Olhoff had two hits, scored twice and knocked in a run for Merrill.

Sydney Spear had two of the Evergreens’ five hits.

Edgar 7, Marathon 2 (Monday)

MARATHON - Makayla Wirkus led the Wildcats at the plate and in the circle, going 2-for-2 with a run scored, two stolen bases and three walks while also earning the win after pitching all seven innings, giving up eight hits, a walk and two runs with 13 strikeouts.

Reagan Borchardt, Riley Mueller and Maycie Yonker each recorded RBIs for the Wildcats and Edgar had 12 walks total as a team.

Kyla Heise had an RBI single for the Red Raiders in the second and Danica Staus smacked a solo home run for Marathon in the sixth.

Mosinee 6, Wausau East 2 (Monday)

MOSINEE - The Lumberjacks struck first for two runs in the second inning, but Mosinee countered by getting one back in the bottom of the frame and then tacked on four more in the fifth and another run in the sixth to pull away with the victory.

Tristan Wicklund went 3-for-3 with an RBI to lead Mosinee at the plate. Adeline Strejc and Martina Miller each went 2-for-4 with a run scored. Strejc swiped a base and Miller doubled and drove in two. Maggie Woller hit a solo home run while also earning two free passes and scoring twice.

Olivia Thome and Maggie Nelson each went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Wausau East. Thome and Graysen Burger came around to score the Lumberjacks’ runs.

Strejc opened the game in the circle for Mosinee, giving up five hits, a walk and two runs over two innings. Ava Busse earned the win, pitching five innings in relief. Busse gave up two hits and a walk, striking out six.

Savannah Spees started for East, surrendering seven hits, a walk and a run with two strikeouts over four innings. Tristen Young pitched for the Lumberjacks in relief, giving up five hits, three walks, and five runs (four earned).

BASEBALL

Stevens Point 4, Marshfield 2

STEVENS POINT - The Panthers scored single runs in the third, fourth, fifth and sixth innings to defeat the Tigers.

Stevens Point, which is 12-1 overall and 6-1 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference, got doubles from Jackson Fox and Carl Beichler.

Josh Opiola pitched a complete game for Stevens Point, allowing two runs on five hits and zero walks. He struck out five.

Wausau West 4, Merrill 3

WAUSAU - The Warriors scored with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning to pull out the Wisconsin Valley Conference win.

Jackson Smithpeter was 2-for-3 with a double and one RBI to lead West.

Jack Kostroski picked up the win in relief, pitching the final three innings, allowing one walk while striking out five.

Sam Reimann was 2-for-4, and Connor Cortright added a two-run home run in the fifth to pace the Bluejays.

Mosinee 15, Northland Pines 0

EAGLE RIVER- Garrett Shupe and Ethan Oatman combined to pitch Mosinee’s third no-hitter of the season.

Shupe pitched the first four innings, allowing one walk while striking out five. Oatman pitched the fifth inning and struck out one.

Davin Stoffel and Brady Lokken both had three hits and two RBIs. Lokken had two doubles and Stoffel had a triple. Cameron Ziebell had a double and a triple. Grant Kuklinski had two hits and two RBIs.

Pacelli 10, Iola-Scandinavia 7

STEVENS POINT - The Cardinals outlasted the Thunderbirds, scoring four runs in the sixth to pull out the Central Wisconsin Conference win.

Brock Birrenkott was 3-for-4 with an RBI, Asher Jordan drove in two runs and Grant Hinker had three RBIs for Pacelli.

Owen Wolberg had the hot bat for Iola-Scandinavia, going 3-for-5 with two RBIs, while Jackson Fredy, Alex Rogalla and Carter Melum had two hits each.

Pittsville 15, Loyal 0

PITTSVILLE - The Panthers broke open the game with a seven-run third inning in the win over the Greyhounds.

Brad Neve had four hits, including three doubles and five RBIs for Pittsville. Evan Haley, Dylan Luther and Logan Zickert both drove in two runs. Joey Downs had three hits and Haley had two doubles.

Neve pitched five innings of one-hit ball. He walked no one and struck out two.

Pittsville 7, Pacelli 3 (Monday)

PACELLI - The Panthers scored all seven of their runs in the first inning in the victory.

Logan Zickert went 2-for-3 at the plate for Pittsville with a double, walk, run scored and RBI. Zickert also earned the win for the Panthers, giving up three hits, two walks and three runs (one earned) with 10 strikeouts.

Asher Jordan recorded all three of Pacelli’s hits in as many at-bats with a double, a run scored and two RBIs. Malise Beduhn walked and scored the other two runs for the Cardinals.

GIRLS SOCCER

D.C. Everest 4, Wausau West 0 (Monday)

WAUSAU - Zongshia Lo scored two goals in the first half as the Evergreens shut out the Warriors in a Wisconsin Valley Conference match.

Grace Sandquist added a goal and two assists for the Evergreens (6-4-1, 4-1 Wisconsin Valley Conference).

Ava Hopper scored D.C. Everest’s final goal with an assist from Julia Hemauer.

Makenna Kampmann had seven saves in goal for the Evergreens. Wausau West goalie Grace Kallio made two saves.

Assumption 6, Adams-Friendship 5 (Monday)

ADAMS - The Royals led 5-1 at halftime and held on for the victory.

Aislinn Dolan got Assumption on the board first in the sixth minute and Sarah Shaw added a second goal two minutes later.

Evelyn Shaw put away Adams-Friendship’s lone first-half goal in the 12th minute.

Gracie Johnson found the back of the net for the Royals in the final seconds of the 29th minute and Addi Vollert scored twice in the 35th minute, the second goal assisted by Sarah Shaw, to give Assumption a 5-1 lead at the break.

Evelyn Shaw scored back-to-back goals in the 41st and 55th minutes to get the Green Devils back in the match and earn herself the hat trick.

Vollert responded with what would turn out to be the deciding goal for the Royals in the 59th minute, resulting in a hat trick for her.

Adyson Tosh scored in the 61st minute and Evelyn Shaw got her fourth of the match in the 66th minute, but Adams-Friendship fell just short in the end.

The Royals outshot the Green Devils, 19-7.

Morgan Reichl had four saves for Assumption and Lily Smejkal saved 15 shots for Adams-Friendship.

The Royals improve to 8-2 overall and the Green Devils fall to 8-2-1.
