Tottenham injury update: Micky van de Ven, Rodrigo Bentancur and Manor Solomon latest news and return dates

The international break has passed by seemingly without incident when it comes to Tottenham’s injury list.

Micky van de Ven is potentially nearing a return ahead of Saturday’s visit of Luton, whereas Ryan Sessegnon and Manor Solomon are both enduring long lay-offs.

News did, however, emerge of Rodrigo Bentancur’s ongoing injury issue which he has been playing through of late.

Ange Postecoglou will hope to have almost a full squad at his disposal on the weekend.

Here is all the latest Tottenham injury news and return dates...

Micky van de Ven

The sight of Micky van de Ven exiting during Tottenham’s big win over Aston Villa earlier this month marred what was otherwise a memorable afternoon.

The Dutch defender subsequently sat out the defeat to Fulham and the recent Netherlands camp.

However, Postecoglou insisted that he was “pretty confident” that Van de Ven won’t “miss much more” than the Craven Cottage trip.

Therefore, Spurs fans are hoping for a positive update ahead of the Luton game with a midweek game against West Ham shortly afterwards another potential return date.

Rodrigo Bentancur

Uruguay midfielder Bentancur revealed this week that he has been playing through a broken toe.

"I broke the little toe of the left foot two or three weeks ago,” he told Teledoce in his home country.

“But this one I'm still playing the same. I broke one of my phalanx and I would have had to stop for three or four weeks so that it could heal but it wasn't possible.

"It was before the Crystal Palace match in London in a training session with a team-mate, but it's almost there. I'm playing with my toe recovering but the truth is that once I warm up I forget it. I did not want to stop, so I'm fine and feeling good 100 per cent."

Therefore, he is expected to continue to be available this weekend.

Manor Solomon

Israel winger Solomon underwent minor surgery to his meniscus last week, having suffered a setback in his recovery from an original knee operation.

The former Fulham loanee has played just 198 minutes of football combined for Spurs so far and last featured as a substitute in the controversial 2-1 win over Liverpool in late September.

It has been suggested that Solomon will miss the rest of the season.

Fraser Forster

Guglielmo Vicario’s chief deputy suffered a fracture to his foot in training in February and has been out of action since.

Postecoglou loosely put his recovery timeframe at a “couple of months”, so mid-to-late April would seem a realistic return period for Forster provided he suffers no setbacks between now and then.

Brandon Austin has been serving as No1 Vicario’s back-up in the absence of the ex-England international.

Potential return date: April 2024

Ryan Sessegnon

Sessegnon has endured a torrid time with hamstring injuries over recent years and needed an operation following an Under-21s match in late February.

Tottenham said then that he would be “closely monitored by our medical team to determine when he can return to training”.
