Extra! Extra! Read all about it!

Celebratory news coverage swept the globe after the Raptors won their first NBA championship last season, and thanks to some redecorating at the OVO Athletic Centre, the team won’t soon forget about all of those joyous headlines.

To commemorate their historic playoff run in 2019, the organization has adorned the walls of the team’s practice facility with framed front pages from newspapers and magazine that were released following their win over the Golden State Warriors in Game 6 of the NBA Finals.

Front pages from publications such as Sports Illustrated, Toronto Star, The Globe and Mail and Toronto Sun are just some of the framed pieces that can be found in at least one of the facility’s boardrooms. The extensive coverage will now serve as a constant reminder of the team’s incredible accomplishment, and what needs to be done in order for the Raptors to do it again.

And while this particular full-page newspaper ad published in the Toronto Star can’t be seen in the photos, we can only hope the Raptors decide to toss it on one of their walls.

That’s the kind of pettiness we’d gladly sign up for.
