Top varsity performances by Erie County athletes from April 22-27

Each week through District 10's spring sports season, the Erie Times-News will compile a list of notable performances from Erie County athletes. These lists will conclude upon the conclusion of the state track and field meet, held Memorial Day weekend at Shippensburg University.

This week's honorees are:

Baseball

Nick Timm, Northwestern: He contributed as a pitcher (12 strikeouts over six innings) and a hitter (three RBIs) when the Wildcats beat the Iroquois Braves 8-1.

Reilly Brown, Iroquois: He struck out 12 Rocky Grove batters, which helped the Braves beat the Orioles 9-4.

Connor Cross, McDowell: His three-hit, three-RBI performance helped the Trojans blank the Fort LeBoeuf Bison 10-0.

Jason Fultz, Cathedral Prep: The Clemson University recruit hit a home run and pitched a two-hit shutout for the Ramblers when they defeated General McLane 10-0.

Tobias Vahey, Harbor Creek: His home run helped the Huskies beat the Girard YellowJackets 8-1.

Lucas Rupp, Seneca: He drove in three runs with his two hits, which helped the Bobcats beat the Saegertown Panthers 8-6.

Daithan Kent, Union City: He doubled twice and scored a run as the leadoff hitter for the Bears, who scored in the bottom of the seventh inning for a dramatic 4-3 victory vs. Cochranton.

Kadin Dombkowski, Fort LeBoeuf: The Bison beat Warren 6-2 with aid from his three hits.

Nick Hamilton, McDowell: He struck out nine Meadville batters over a 4 2/3 innings of the Trojans’ 12-2 win against the Bulldogs.

Aari Fox, Fairview: The Slippery Rock University recruit contributed as a relief pitcher for the Tigers when they blanked the Northwestern Wildcats 6-0.

Kellen Chelton, General McLane: His grand slam and six-RBI effort highlighted the Lancers’ 10-2 victory vs. the Corry Beavers.

Softball

Samantha Primavere, Seneca: She pitched a two-hit shutout for the Bobcats, who beat the Girard YellowJackets 10-0.

Cheyenne Cummings, Union City: She tripled for one of her three hits and scored twice when the Bears beat the Seneca Bobcats 11-1 in five innings.

Londyn Davis, Fort LeBoeuf: Her three-run home run highlighted a 7-6 win for the Bison over Northwestern.

Mackenzie Spence, Corry: The Beavers needed each of her four RBIs en route to their 17-14, eight-inning victory vs. the Franklin Knights.

Julianna Coletta, North East: Her rare five-hit game helped the Grapepickers defeat the Girard YellowJackets 15-5.

Madison Simmerman, Cathedral Prep: Her home run was part of the Ramblers’ 18-1 rout of General McLane.

Kendra Tobin, Fort LeBoeuf: She drove in four runs for the Bison when they beat the Seneca Bobcats 14-3.

Zoey Johnson, Northwestern: Her four-hit performance helped the Wildcats win 15-5 against North East.

Emalie Thomas, Cathedral Prep: She recorded the last of three consecutive run-scoring hits for the Ramblers, who rallied for a dramatic 3-2, eight-inning victory vs. Meadville.

Brooklyn Cipalla, Harbor Creek: The Huskies routed Girard 14-0 in part from her four hits.

Jocelyn Terella, Fairview: Her 4-for-4 performance at the plate included a double, home run and six RBIs, which accounted for half of the runs in the Tigers’ 12-2 victory at Union City.

Boys track and field

Jonathan Tate, Northwestern: He won the Franklin Invitational’s 400-meter final with a lap of 52.24 seconds.

Benny Whitaker, McDowell: The sprinter was voted the track MVP for Joe Sanford’s McDowell Invitational.

Brady Gonda, Harbor Creek: The Huskies’ top thrower won the discus competition, which highlighted his field MVP performance during Joe Sanford’s McDowell Invitational.

Garett Skinner, Fort LeBoeuf: He was the 110 hurdles gold medalist and the 300 hurdles silver medalist for Joe Sanford’s McDowell Invitational.

Geremia Dell’omo, Girard: His first-place triple jump attempt for Joe Sanford’s McDowell Invitational was 42 feet, 6 inches.

Noah Crozier, North East: He was the high jump titlist (6-4) for Joe Sanford’s McDowell Invitational.

Nolan Carey, Corry: His best javelin throw of 154-7 also was the longest during competition in that event at Joe Sanford’s McDowell Invitational.

Reed Yost, Seneca: He cleared an even 15 feet for first place in the pole vault at Joe Sanford’s McDowell Invitational.

Garett Skinner, Fort LeBoeuf: He was the 110 hurdles gold medalist and the 300 hurdles silver medalist for Joe Sanford’s McDowell Invitational.

Logan Harwood, Seneca: He was a four-time running winner for the Bobcats when they beat the Eisenhower Knights 127-23.

Hunter Villa, Fort LeBoeuf: He was victorious in track (400 relay) and field events (long and triple jumps) when the Bison defeated the Iroquois Braves 98-42.

Logan Anderson, General McLane: He swept first place for the 110 and 300 hurdles when the Lancers beat McDowell 94-56 in a Region 6 dual.

Lucas Myer, Union City: He tied the school record in the pole vault when he cleared an even 13 feet during the Bears’ 93-57, non-region dual victory vs. District 9 Sheffield.

Girls track and field

Tessa Bemiss, North East: The senior swept first place in the Franklin Invitational’s discus (122 feet, 7 inches) and javelin (104-5) competitions.

Ella Corritore, Fort LeBoeuf: The Bison were team champions for Joe Sanford’s McDowell Invitational with help from her MVP effort during the meet’s track events.

Sophia Ginader, McDowell: The pole vault with the namesake of the meet watching, won that event (10-6) during Joe Sanford’s McDowell Invitational.

Morgan Wilhelm, Seneca: The runner for the Bobcats was an individual (300-meter hurdles) and relay (1,600) victor during Joe Sanford’s McDowell Invitational.

Mackenzie Nelson, Seneca: She anchored two first-place relays and was an individual victor for the 400 when the Bobcats beat Eisenhower 117-32.

Alena Urbanowicz, Fort LeBoeuf: She swept the sprint races and led off the first-place 400 relay for the Bison when they beat Iroquois 111-21 in a Region 5 dual.

Caroline Lewis, McDowell: She posted the best attempts in the discus (81 feet) and javelin (104-9) when the Trojans beat General McLane 90-59 in the teams’ Region 6 dual.

Ava Reagle, Union City: The star sprinter for the Bears won the 100, 200 and 400 races during their 83-63, non-region dual victory against the Sheffield Wolverines.

Boys volleyball

R.J. Nagg, McDowell: The Trojans needed all 62 of his assists for a five-set victory vs. District 9 DuBois. ... It was during McDowell's previous match when he totaled 23 assists during a 25-12, 25-14, 25-17 sweep of Mercyhurst Prep at Paul Goll Gymnasium.

Caleb Daubenspeck, Fort LeBoeuf: His team-high 15 kills helped the Bison sweep the Mercyhurst Prep Lakers. ... LeBoeuf began this week with a trip to New York state for a three-set sweep of Chautauqua County Christian that included his team-high 17 kills.

Amarvir Kang, McDowell: The Trojans swept Conneaut 25-22, 25-21, 25-21 with the aid of his team-high 10 kills.

Boys tennis

Noah Hardesty, McDowell boys tennis: The Trojans’ No. 1 singles starter rallied for a three-set victory that was the difference in their 3-2 Region 2 dual win over Mercyhurst Prep at Westwood Racquet Club.

John Sinnott, Erie High: He didn’t lose a game during his No. 1 singles match, a result that also helped the Royals beat Mercyhurst Prep 3-2 in the teams’ Region 2 dual.

Gavin Ferretti, Cathedral Prep: District 10’s reigning Class 2A titlist didn’t drop a game during his No. 1 singles match, which helped the Ramblers edge Boardman (Ohio) 3-2.

Boys lacrosse

Rylan Sorge, Cathedral Prep: He scored three times for the Ramblers when they defeated the Meadville Bulldogs 7-6 at Dollinger Field.

Girls lacrosse

Emma Crowers, McDowell girls lacrosse: She scored twice for the Trojans when they won 10-8 against the rival Cathedral Prep Ramblers at Dollinger Field.

Alyvia Stockton, McDowell: She scored four goals and assisted on three others when the Trojans dominated the Meadville Bulldogs 17-1.
