These Erie County varsity high school athletes are among Top Performers for Dec. 11-16

Erie County's high school athletes are heating up in several winter sports as the holiday break nears for District 10 schools.

Notable athletic accomplishments for the week of Dec. 11-16 include these Top Performers:

Boys basketball

Tucker Chwatek, Harbor Creek: His three-pointer with five seconds left in overtime was the game-winner when the Huskies survived 56-53 at Fredonia (New York).

J.T. Delsandro, Harbor Creek: The point guard scored 10 of his game-high 28 points in the fourth quarter, when the Huskies rallied from a seven-point deficit for a 61-58 road victory over the rival North East Grapepickers.

Kenny Godoy, Girard: His 16 points were the most for the YellowJackets when they won 59-33 vs. the Cochranton Cardinals.

Rylan Smith, Corry: His 26 points nearly matched Maplewood’s total when the Beavers defeated the Tigers 60-29.

Cohen Beachley, General McLane: His 12 points helped the Lancers to a 60-point rout of the Wilmington Greyhounds.

Noah Crozier, North East: His 24 points were more than half of Fort LeBoeuf’s total when the Grapepickers beat the Bison 55-44.

Greyson Rhodes, General McLane: His 20-point effort nearly matched Northwestern’s total when the Lancers beat the Wildcats 62-23.

Simon Gonzalez, Erie First Christian: The Eagles defeated Crawford County Christian 55-50 with the aid of his 19 points.

Jaheim Mims, Erie High: He scored 15 points for the Royals when they won 51-42 at Cathedral Prep’s Joann Mullen Gymnasium.

Tyler Grove, McDowell: The Trojans won 77-52 at Brashear with the aid of his 29 points.

Nate Edwards, Girard: His 25-point effort was significant to the YellowJackets’ 62-48 victory vs. the Corry Beavers.

Girls basketball

Brooke Przybylski, Harbor Creek: She personally outscored Farrell (23 points) when the Huskies routed the Steelers 66-19.

Haylee Farrell, Seneca: The Bobcats beat the Eisenhower Knights 47-39 in part because of her 23 points.

Makayla Presser-Palmer, Northwestern: She scored 25 points, only four less than the Wildcats allowed when they beat North East 41-29. ... Northwestern's previous game, a 41-32 victory over Lakeview, included her 23-point effort.

Olivia Kulyk, Mercyhurst Prep: Her 11 points were enough to lead the Lakers in scoring when they defeated Girard 47-17. ... She also converted seven of eight free-throw attempts in overtime when Mercyhurst prevailed for a 53-47 victory vs. Seton-LaSalle.

Aubrey Neavins, Erie High: The Royals edged the rival McDowell Trojans 43-40 with the help of her 22 points.

Bre Heidt, Fairview: She scored 17 points when the Tigers defeated Corry 45-21.

Emma Bleil, Seneca: She finished with 11 points when the Bobcats beat Cochranton 44-36.

Libby Opp, General McLane: She scored 22 points for the Lancers, who defeated the Girard YellowJackets 53-21.

Addie Biel, Cathedral Prep: Her 30-point performance helped the Ramblers to a comfortable 70-50 home win against District 7 Mt. Lebanon.

Deaja Williams, Erie High: Her 19-point performance helped the Royals beat North East 53-42.

District 10 basketball scoreboard: High school game stats, results for Dec. 11-16

Boys swimming

Jack Raimy, Cathedral Prep: He won the 100-yard varsity backstroke final for Cleveland State University’s Viking Invitational. ... The sophomore, in his first meet for the Ramblers since competing in the Speedo Winter Junior Championship East meet at Columbus, Ohio, was a triple victor during their dual win against Erie High.

Brandon Jackson, Corry: He won four times for the Beavers during their rare 82-all dual tie with Union City.

Joseph Galbraith, Union City: The triple winner for the Bears helped them to an 82-all tie with the host Corry Beavers.

Brody Caldwell, General McLane: The first-year Lancer won four times during their 93-30 dual win against Iroquois.

Brody Walker, North East: He won the diving competition and also swam a leg of the Grapepickers’ 400-yard freestyle relay that clinched their 72-68 dual victory against the Girard YellowJackets.

Caleb Daubenspeck, Union City: He was a four-time winner for the Bears when they beat Mercyhurst Prep 120-17.

Girls swimming

Taylor Moats, Corry: She was a four-time victor for the Beavers when they defeated the rival Union City Bears 85-64.

Emma Shade, General McLane: The freshman won her maximum four events when the Lancers defeated the Iroquois Braves 131-48.

Morgan Wilhelm, North East: She was an infrequent winner as a swimmer and diver for the Grapepickers when they beat Girard 108-70.

Jaslene Cage, Cathedral Prep: She was a four-time winner for the Ramblers, who routed Erie High 115-37.

Madelyn Grieco, Union City: The anchor for the Bears’ victorious 400-yard freestyle relay clinched the team’s 64-59 dual victory vs. Mercyhurst Prep.

Boys wrestling

Keagan Oler, Cathedral Prep: The 133/139-pounder went 5-0 during the Ramblers’ dual tournament.

Jackson Bowers, Fort LeBoeuf: The 145-pounder recorded a 41-second pin for the Bison, who routed Northwestern 60-8.

Kael Albers, Corry: His 66-second fall in the 215 match was the fastest for the Beavers when they dominated Eisenhower 64-6.

Matt Kuczcinski, Harbor Creek: The 133-pounder’s pin capped an 18-0 start for the Huskies when they beat Girard 54-23.

Ben Watkins, General McLane: The 172-pounder’s fall was the last of three straight victories for the Lancers, who beat the North East Grapepickers 47-23.

Girls bowling

Taylor Kretz, McDowell: The Trojans beat Mercyhurst Prep 25-3 in part her high game (266) and series (703) during Metro League action at Eastland Bowl.

Ava Hensler, Cathedral Prep: The junior head a team-high 490 series when the Ramblers beat Erie High 24-4 in their Metro League dual.
