Top disc golfers claim titles at SD State Championship at Dry Run Creek

Sep. 24—SIOUX FALLS — The top disc golfers from the state of South Dakota and beyond were on hand this weekend at Dry Run Creek in Mitchell, competing at the South Dakota State Disc Golf Championships. The event had 100 total players on hand for three days of competition.

In the Mixed Pro Open division, Dylan Brogren, of Winside, Nebraska, won the tournament with a three-day score of 161, or 23-under-par. He was 7-under-par in the final round, holding off hard-charging Taylor Lupton, of Lakefield, Minnesota, who was 9-under on Sunday and finished tied for second at 22-under, alongside Hot Springs' Riley Brenner with three-day gross scores of 162. Jake Servaty, of Rapid City, was fourth with a score of 163, and Garett Everson, of Sioux Falls, was fifth with a score of 165, including shooting the tournament's low round of 45 and 11 consecutive birdies on Sunday on the par-57 course.

In the Mixed Amateur 1 division, Brookings' Braden Held won the grouping by 11 strokes, shooting 166 over three days. Pierre's Aaron Campbell was second at 177, and Avery Del Grosso, of Sioux Falls, was third with a score of 179. In the Mixed Amateur 2 division, Ryan Corcoran, of Rapid City, won with a score of 185, edging the three-way tie for second place held by Brandon's Henry Kott, Rapid City's Jennings Bakken and Sioux Falls' Caleb Pruitt.

Spearfish's Justin Keiry won the 40-and-older mixed amateur division with a score of 182, while Tea's Robert DiBonto won the 50-and-older mixed amateur division with a score of 200.
