Top 15 boys basketball power poll — and more — for the Austin area

Our top 15 boys basketball teams — and more below — in the Austin area entering this week across all classifications:

1. Stony Point

The Tigers (31-1) enter Tuesday 13-0 in District 25-6A with the possibility to run the table in the district for a second straight year. They have now won 37 straight district games after a 101-71 win over McNeil. Josiah Moseley scored 25 points and made five blocks to pace Stony Point, with Uzziah Buntyn (20 points, five assists), Landon Short (16 points, six boards) and Alan Guyton (13 points) all joining him in double figures. Earlier in the week the Tigers topped Westwood 66-54 behind Moseley’s double-double of 29 points and 13 rebounds and Elijah Clemons’ 13 points.

2. St. Michael's

The Crusaders (32-1) beat Regents 83-57 to close out a perfect TAPPS District 3-5A slate and the regular season. They will play in the first round of the playoffs on Feb. 20. Aiden Disu’s 20 points led it by Regents.

3. Westlake

The Chaps (26-7) closed out their regular season with wins over Johnson 48-42 and Akins 86-36, and with Lake Travis’ loss to Johnson Friday, secured a ninth straight district title. Gavin Paull led the Chaps with 19 points vs. the Jaguars, with Wonder Kahozi tallying 15 points and Brody Wilhelm adding 10 points against the Eagles. Jack Seiders and Paull both chipped in nine points vs. Akins.

4. Lake Travis

The Cavs (28-5) topped Bowie 57-46 and lost to Johnson 57-54. Chas Biegel (20 points) and Adrian Mathis (16 points) led the way in the victory vs. the Bulldogs, while Biegel also poured in 24 points in the loss to the Jaguars. Mathis finished with 15 points against Johnson. Lake Travis can clinch a share of the District 26-6A title with a win Tuesday against Akins.

5. Rouse

The Raiders (26-7) pushed their District 25-5A winning streak to 27 straight games after beating Leander 54-32. Jo-Jo Moore scored 15 points and A’marie Haywood sank 11 points in the win vs. the Lions. Earlier in the week, Rouse topped Cedar Park 65-53 as Moore barely missed a triple-double with 25 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists and Haywood had a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds.

6. Johnson

The Jaguars (25-7) rallied from down 14 points to edge Lake Travis 57-54 behind Sam McKinney’s 21 points and eight boards, Jason Vadegarde’s 11 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals and Mack Martin’s 11 points. Earlier in the week, they lost to Westlake 48-42, when McKinney and Vandegarde combined for 33 points.

7. Bowie

The Bulldogs (22-10) defeated Del Valle 82-48 to clinch the fourth playoff spot out of District 26-6A thanks to Darius Williams’ 12 points and Danny Glowacz’s 11 points. Bennett Seiler dominated the boards with nine rebounds, seven of which were offensive. Earlier in the week Bowie fell to Lake Travis 57-46.

8. Georgetown

The Eagles (26-7) clinched the outright District 23-5A title after defeating beating rival East View 65-57 in overtime to avenge their only district loss. Five Georgetown players reached double figures in scoring: Kai Canfield (17), Evan Mayhew (12), Cooper Christensen, Qui Raun Pressley (10) and Landry Bouillion (10). Earlier in the week Pressley scored 18 points and Bouillion added 16 points in a 61-49 win vs. Cedar Creek.

9. Vandegrift

The Vipers (23-8) beat Vista Ridge 53-28 thanks to Mark Fletcher’s 20 points and have secured a playoff spot out of District 25-6A. Earlier in the week, Chance Van Stavern’s 3-pointer at the buzzer and 21 points from Fletcher led it by Cedar Ridge 47-46 earlier in the week.

10. Round Rock

The Dragons (19-12) beat McNeil 50-46 and Cedar Ridge 56-35 to clinch a playoff spot out of District 25-6A. Mason Cochran’s 10 points led the way in the win vs. the Raiders, when 12 different Round Rock players scored.

11. Manor

The Mustangs (22-9) knocked off Vista Ridge 65-35 and Westwood 61-56 to secure a playoff spot out of District 25-6A. Chris Colter’s 20 points, Trey Jackson’s 18 points and Kailand Johnson's 10 points led them past the Warriors.

12. Hendrickson

The Hawks (23-11) secured the No. 2 seed out of District 23-5A after topping rival Connally 73-52. Earlier in the week, the Hawks beat East View 66-50 as Chi Ukachukwu finished with 17 points, seven rebounds, three steals and two assists and both King Carter and Amir Thompson added 12 points.

13. Glenn

The Grizzlies (21-11) downed Lehman 64-50 to clinch a playoff spot out of District 25-5A as Cade Hartley tallied 19 points and eight rebounds. Glenn has now won at least 20 games and reached the playoffs for five straight years.

14. McCallum

The Knights (23-8) did not play last week. They can make a perfect run through District 24-5A with a win over Northeast Tuesday night.

15. Connally

The Cougars (19-11) lost to Hendrickson 73-52. They secured a spot in the playoffs with a 51-36 over Pflugerville earlier in the week. Mekhai Bryant poured in 28 points and grabbed seven rebounds and Anthony Phagans had 14 points and five assists in the win against the Panthers.

Just outside

Cedar Park: The Timberwolves (19-13) defeated Liberty Hill 46-42 to secure a playoff spot. Reid Vines scored 14 points and Kalen Williamson had 12 points to lead Cedar Park.

Weiss: The Wolves (15-13) moved into a tie for first place in District 12-6A with a win over Harker Heights 56-42. Double-double machine Cameron Jackson finished with 19 points and 18 rebounds.

Tip-ins: Hutto clinched the No. 3 seed in the playoffs out of District 12-6A with a 60-43 win at Waco Midway. Jacques Calhoun poured in 23 points and both Byron Piper and Cylin Tate had 11 points to lead the Hippos. … Thomas Burke and Suley Shah both had 20 points as Westwood lost to Manor 61-56. … Cedar Creek beat Bastrop 82-38 to secure a playoff spot. Four Eagles reached double figures: Robert Conrad (19), Kenji Franklin (14), Phin Koplin (13) and Micah McDonald (12). McDonald also grabbed 12 rebounds to record a double-double. … Terrion Benson (17 points and nine rebounds) and Levi Robertson (14 points, seven rebounds) had good games for East View in its 65-57 loss to Georgetown.
