Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase found himself in the headlines this week because the official “Madden NFL 23” ratings started going live.

Chase wound up wildly underrated in the process, landing outside of the top 15 wide receivers at an 87 overall. This caused quite the stir on social media, prompting players and fans to post thoughts on the matter.

And not long after, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady got involved too, sending Chase a short message about it on Twitter: “Don’t sweat it man. Madden didn’t even put me in the game my second year.”

Brady then went on to post a screengrab of his early years in the game, which featured at least one hilarious rating:

When even one of the game’s greatest players can recognize Chase’s rating is too low, it’s a pretty good sign that he’ll likely boost it early next season once he gets back on the field.
