Tito Ortiz Makes Surprise TNA Wrestling Appearance, Joins Rampage Jackson on Impact

UFC Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz followed friend and former trainer partner Quinton “Rampage” Jackson's footsteps all the way to Bellator MMA, but he didn't stop there. Just like Rampage, Ortiz also made the move to TNA Wrestling's Impact.

The hot internet rumor just a few short days ago had Bellator putting Rampage up against Roy Jones Jr. in a boxing match on pay-per-view opposite the UFC's year-end extravaganza that features Chris Weidman vs. Anderson Silva II and Ronda Rousey vs. Miesha Tate II.

That smokescreen cleared on Wednesday night, however, when Ortiz made a surprise appearance at Bellator 97 on Spike TV with the promotion revealing that Rampage and Ortiz would be the ones fighting in Bellator's first pay-per-view main event, and that it would happen on Nov. 2 in Long Beach, Calif.

Ortiz followed that surprise appearance with a repeat performance on Thursday night's episode of Impact, the professional wrestling program that served as lead-in programming to Bellator's first season on Spike.

Rampage Jackson and Tito Ortiz have always presented themselves in the MMA world with a professional wrestling sort of persona. It only makes sense that each would find his way into the Bellator cage hand in hand with Impact, affording a tremendous amount of crossover promotional opportunities to beef up Bellator's inaugural PPV event.

Rampage vs. Tito takes place on Nov. 2 at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center in Long Beach, Calif.
