Titans sign TE Jared Pinkney to futures contract

The Tennessee Titans signed former Vanderbilt tight end Jared Pinkney to a futures contract on Wednesday.

Pinkney originally signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent after the 2020 NFL draft. The Falcons waived him on Sept. 5, then signed him to the practice squad the following day.

The 6-foot-4, 260-pounder was a practice squad elevation in Week 17 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but was inactive.

Pinkney totaled 114 catches for 1,560 receiving yards to go with 14 touchdowns in four years at Vanderbilt. He earned second-team All-SEC honors as a junior when he recorded 50 catches for 774 yards and seven touchdowns.

Futures contracts are effective the first day of the new league year. Because there aren’t practice squads in the offseason, teams can sign players ahead of the upcoming season.

With the signing of Pinkney, the Titans have now inked 15 players to futures contracts. You can check out the other 14 futures signings Tennessee has made right here.
