Titans’ Ryan Stonehouse named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week

Tennessee Titans punter Ryan Stonehouse is receiving some recognition for his outstanding performance during the Week 12 win over the Carolina Panthers.

The second-year punter was named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 12 after he averaged 53.7 yards per punt on his seven attempts.

Stonehouse dropped a total of five punts inside the 20, including a 71-yard beauty that the Titans downed at the Panthers’ four-yard line.

After an impressive rookie campaign that saw him get the nod as a second-team All-Pro after he broke the NFL record for gross yards per punt (53.1) — a mark that stood for 82 years — and the rookie record for net yards per punt (44.0), Stonehouse is having another great season.

The Colorado State product is averaging 52.9 yards per punt in 2023, which is nearly two yards more than the next closest player. His 44.8 net yards per punt ranks third in the NFL.

With Tennessee’s struggles on offense, Stonehouse’s ability to flip the field has been crucial.
