Titans make Lewan highest paid left tackle
The Tennessee Titans have given left tackle Taylor Lewan the megadeal he was hoping for when he skipped minicamp last month. The Titans signed Lewan to a five-year deal worth $80 million, $50 million guaranteed, according to multiple reports. The team announced the extension on Friday. Lewan reported to training camp this week after skipping earlier team activities this offseason. Entering the final year of his rookie contract, Lewan is scheduled to make more than $9.3 million this season. The 11th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, Lewan has made each of the last two pro bowls and missed just one game in the last three seasons. With the deal, Lewan becomes the highest-paid left tackle in the NFL, surpassing the four-year, $62 million contract Nate Solder signed with the Giants as a free agent in March. --Field Level Media
