TikTokers are losing it over this genius egg-slicing hack: ‘Are you kidding me?!’

This simple slicing hack for making the perfect deviled eggs works so well that even culinary school graduates are impressed.

TikToker Andrea VanDerwerker (@andrealanev) shared an “eggcellent” hack for making the perfect deviled eggs, which involves gently rolling a knife over the outer layer of a hard-boiled egg, and viewers, including culinary professionals, were blown away by the simple method.

VanDerwerker demonstrates her technique in a video in which she gently rolls a hard-boiled egg over a cutting board with a knife, cleanly slicing off the outer layer.

“Look at that,” VanDerwerker marvels, holding the perfectly round yellow yolk up to the camera before tossing it in a food processor with other similarly pristine balls of hard-boiled egg yolks.

“Are you kidding me?” she exclaims, gesturing toward the neat slices of hard-boiled egg whites, which are completely clean of any yolk debris or tears, making them the perfect vessel for the filling.

Does culinary school teach this?

In the caption, VanDerwerker mentions that she can’t believe she just recently discovered this slicing technique, and based on the response from viewers, neither can they.

“$22,000 for culinary school, and THEY DIDN’T TEACH ME THIS,” one user commented in disbelief.

“I’m still trying to figure out how to peel the egg without utterly destroying the egg whites, lol,” admitted one TikToker.

“NO WAY! Are you kidding me?! I’m a babysitter, and my kids LOVE boiled eggs! I still can’t believe this. THANK YOU for [sharing] this. I never knew,” one grateful caregiver shared.

“The devilish laugh that just exited my body. Pun intended,” mentioned one viewer.
