Possible reasons behind College Football Playoff national championship ticket price drop
For context, the floor price for tickets for last year's title game between Georgia and Alabama were at $461. This would be the cheapest national championship game to attend since Alabama and Clemson met in 2019 ($202). Per TicketIQ, the reasoning for the price drop could come from a number of angles. Both teams are located more than 1,000 miles from Inglewood (Georgia at 2,269 miles, TCU at 1,418), so distance to travel could be a factor. There's also the idea of a national championship hangover among Georgia fans, even though they tend to travel well for road games. The final reason could be TCU's relatively small fan/alumni base.
Georgia and TCU are set to kick off Monday at 7:30 p.m. eastern at SoFi Stadium.
