Here are Thursday's high school sports results for the Wausau and Stevens Point area

BASEBALL

Stevens Point 10, Merrill 0

MERRILL - The Panthers scored eight runs in the third inning in the victory over the Bluejays.

Bennett Klish, Deacan Koback, Braylen Nystrom and Kaleb Mayer each had two hits for Stevens Point. Klish had a double, Koback had two RBIs, Nystrom had a double and three RBIs, and Mayer had two doubles and two RBIs.

Zach Rechner got the win for Stevens Point. He allowed one hit over five innings and struck out nine.

D.C. Everest 8, Wausau West 3

WAUSAU - The Evergreens scored five runs in the seventh inning to defeat the Warriors.

Preston Miller had two RBIs for D.C. Everest. Nate Langbehn had two hits.

Wausau West was led by Dylan Dobratz with two hits and Aidan Vachowiak with two RBIs.

Cuyler Soppe got the win for D.C. Everest with two innings of one-hit relief.

Jack Kostroski took the loss for Wausau West.

Pacelli 5, Port Edwards 0

STEVENS POINT - Tim Sackmann pitched a four-hit shutout to lead the Cardinals to the win over Port Edwards.

Sackmann didn’t walk anyone and struck out five for Pacelli. He also drove in two runs.

Mitchell Grover had two hits with a double and two RBIs for Pacelli.

Brynden Beck took the loss for Port Edwards.

Mosinee 2, Shawano 1

MOSINEE - Gavin Obremski’s double in the ninth inning scored the winning run to give Mosinee a walk-off victory.

Keagen Jirschele led off the bottom of the first inning with a home run to left center for Mosinee.

Obremski pitched the first four innings of the game, striking out four and walking one. Ethan Oatman pitched the final five innings, striking out three and walking one to get the win.

Taylor Lemanski had four hits, including a double. Davin Stoffel, Sawyer Holtz, Ben Schlei and Grant Kuklinski each had hits.

Abbotsford/Colby 13-14, Athens 5-0

ABBOTSFORD - In game one, the Falcons broke a 5-5 tie with three runs in the fifth inning and added five more in the sixth to defeat the Bluejays, 13-5.

Evan Reis had three hits and four RBIs to lead Abbotsford/Colby. Brandon Diedrich added two RBIs.

Diedrich got the win for the Falcons. Nathan Wolf took the loss for Athens.

In the nightcap, Diedrich and Nano Lopez combined for a one-hit shutout and the Abby/Colby offense exploded for 14 runs - eight in the second and six in the third.

Mateo Lopez went 2-for-2 with three runs scored, three stolen bases and two RBIs. Blake Bargender had two hits in four at-bats with two runs, a stolen base and three RBIs. Payton Schreiber had three RBIs and a run scored on a 2-for-3 day at the plate.

Kamden Zarnke collected the lone hit for the Bluejays and Nick Pittman walked.

Nano Lopez earned the win after three innings, giving up a hit and a walk with five strikeouts.

Pittsville 11, Rosholt 0

PITTSVILLE - The Panthers, who lead 2-0 after two innings, scored five runs in the third and four in the fourth to defeat the Hornets.

Dylan Luther and Waylon Grimm both drove in three runs. Brad Neve drove in two. The trio each had two hits. Luther also scored three runs.

Logan Zickert pitched a one-hitter over the five-inning game. He walked one and struck out nine.

Tyler Hintz took the loss for Rosholt.

SOFTBALL

Wausau West 18, Wausau East 3

WAUSAU - Caitlin Krantz had three hits and four RBIs to lead the Warriors to the win over the Lumberjacks.

Claire Calmes added a home run for Wausau West while Baylen Hulstrom, Sadie Peissig and Kenna Gale each had two hits.

Baley Berndt and Maggie Nelson had two hits for Wausau East. Graysen Burger had a double.

Ella Wendling got the win for Wausau West.

Tristan Young took the loss for Wausau East.

Auburndale 8, Newman Catholic 5

WAUSAU - Auburndale scored four runs in the fourth inning to take a 7-0 lead then held on for the victory.

Mya Krings had three hits, including a double and a two-run home run, and scored three runs. Ashlyn Grimm had two hits and two RBIs, Erin Griesbach had two hits with a double and Taylor Anderson had two hits, including an RBI double. Regynn Lau also hit a double for Auburndale.

Samantha Stanton was the winning pitcher for Auburndale. She pitched 4⅔ innings, allowed three runs on seven hits and struck out one. Grimm got the save, pitching 2⅓ innings and allowing four hits, two runs and striking out three.

Lily Shields, Ashley Jankowski, Brianna Schulz and Luciana Ferrario each had two hits for Newman Catholic.

Mosinee 17, Tomahawk 6

TOMAHAWK - Mosinee scored eight runs in the fourth inning to break open the game with Tomahawk.

Amber Gonzalez had four hits, including a double and four RBIs, for Mosinee. Adeline Strejc had two hits, including a double, and three RBIs. Briley Kaczor had three hits and drove in two runs. Martina Miller had two hits and drove in three runs. Maggie Woller had two hits, including a home run.

Strejc got the win for Mosinee.

In the girls large school meet, Hortonville’s Ayden Smith won the 200-meter dash (:27.19), Paige Morrell won the 800 (2:27.05) and Hannah Huza won the 1,600 (5:36.94). The 400 relay team took first (:52.30) as did the 800 relay team (1:49.07). Tori McGowan won the discus (124-0). Eve Vosters won the long jump (16-8.25).

Waupun’s Lydia Aalsma won the 400 (:58.31).

Berlin captured the 3,200 relay (10:16.66).

Campbellsport’s Aubree Koenings won the shot put (35-11.5). Sienna Hewitt won the pole vault (9-6)

In the girls small school meet, Laconia’s Trinity Hammer won the 100 (:13.59) and teammate Galena Everson won the 400 (1:04.39). Marissa Johnson won the 800 (2:26.91), Molly Duel won the 1,600 (5:12.80) and Mattie Isaac won the shot put (38-5.5). Laconia won the 1,600 relay (4:17.91) and the 3,200 relay (10:07.28). Aubrey Leonard won the triple jump (32-1).

Kiel’s Halle Meyer won the 100 hurdles (:17.44). Brooklyn Manz won the discus (105-5). Madison McDoel won the high jump (4-8). Cailee Kravick won the pole vault (8-0).

St. Mary’s Springs’ Sophie Norton won the 300 hurdles (:50.69). Tiana Loynes won the long jump (15-8.5) Their 400 relay team took first (:51.87) along with the 800 relay team (1:50.23).

Valley Christian’s Leah Patterson won the 3,200 (11:57.97).

In the boys large school meet, Waupun’s Jacob Abel won the 100 (:11.49), the triple jump (42-1.75) and the long jump (22-2).

Berlin’s Devin Derleth won the 200 (:22.89) and the 400 (:51.45).

Campbellsport’s Logan Nolan won the 1,600 (4:45.85) and the 3,200 (10:28.49). Evan Wilcox won the 110 hurdles (:17.05) and the 300 hurdles (:42.80). Campbellsport won the 400 relay (:45.11).

Hortonville’s Blake Radish won the 800 (2:00.02). The Polar Bears won the 1,600 relay (3:40.40). Ben Smith won the shot put (62-6.5) and the discus (192-7). Eathan Lund won the pole vault (13-6).

North Fond du Lac won the 3,200-meter relay (8:42.59).

Clintonville’s Sam Wegener won the high jump (6-0).

In the boys small school meet, Kiel’s Charlie Freis won the 100 (:11.82). Harrison Zorn won the 200 (:23.80), Pierce Arenz won the 800 (2:03.43), Ethan Vander Meer won the 1,600 (4:47.38) and the 3,200 (10:26.83). Kiel won the 400 relay (:45.25), the 1,600 relay (3:43.26) and the 3,200 relay (8:37.59). Aiden Field won the pole vault (11-0).

Winnebago Lutheran won the 800 relay (1:33.98). Kaiden Schmitz won the discus (145-8).

St. Mary’s Springs’ Thomas Koffman won the 110 hurdles (:16.30) and the 300 hurdles (:42.34). Nolan Baudry won the shot put (49-6.5)

Nekoosa’s Aiden Neduzak won the high jump (5-10), the triple jump (40-3.5) and the long jump (19-6).

In the girls meet, Cala Benjamin won the 3,200 for Weyauwega-Fremont. Weyauwega-Fremont also won the 800 relay (1:55.21), the 1,600 relay (4:22.43) and the high jump (Cathryn Gunst, 4-10).

Wittenberg-Birnamwood had first-place finishes with Reese Rogowski (200, :26.49; 400, :57.86; long jump, 16-10.5), Faith Resch (100, :13.43; 300 hurdles, :49.48) and Allison Linke (100 hurdles, :17.89).

Reese Grimm of Pittsville won the 800 (2:29.23) and 1,600 (5:36.80).

Tri-County’s Braelyn Pionke won the triple jump (32-8).

Amherst won the 400-meter relay (:54.93).

In the boys meet, Weyauwega-Fremont got first-place finishes from Kameron Zielke (110 hurdles, :17.02), the 400 relay team (:46.53), the 800 relay team (1:37.30), Isiah Schuh (pole vault, 13-3), Jordan Zastrow (long jump, 19-8) and Broc Billington (triple jump, 41-8.75).

Amherst got first-place finishes from Jacob Derezenski (100, :11.55; high jump, 5-8) and the 3,200 relay team (8:50.67).

The first-place finisher for Pittsville was Jack Redmond (400, :53.02).

Pacelli winners were Adam Eiden (800, 2:00.27), Camden Schurk (300 hurdles, :46.34), the 1,600 relay team (3:43.31) and Sam Carpenter (3,200, 10:44.54).
