Here are Thursday's high school sports results for the Appleton area

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

Appleton North 3, Appleton West 0

APPLETON - Emerson Van Lannen had 21 assists, seven aces and five kills as the Lightning swept the Terrors 25-10, 25-4, 25-17 at North.

Ella Demetrician added 12 kills and Teegan Charapata had seven kills for North. Lydia Koshuta added five assists and Maggie Hahnke had four aces.

“Appleton West is a scrappy and well-coached team,” North coach Steve Scheuerell said. “I was proud of how our entire team came out and played with intensity and confidence.”

Hortonville 3, Kimberly 0

KIMBERLY - The Polar Bears swept the Papermakers 25-20, 25-19, 25-19 in a Fox Valley Association matchup.

Ava Van Vonderen and Ava Reis each had 11 kills for Kimberly. Ava Van Hammond had 10 assists, Emma Tesch had nine assists and Ava Van Camp had 10 digs.

Xavier 3, Green Bay East 0

APPLETON - The Hawks swept the Red Devils 25-6, 25-5, 25-11 in their Bay Conference opener.

Mariah Potter had 16 assists, and Sydney Neilitz had 11 assists and four aces for Xavier. Olivia Neumann added six kills and eight aces, Ali Tylinski had six kills and Madison Daley had five kills.

Fox Valley Lutheran 3, Wrightstown 0

WRIGHTSTOWN - The Foxes put forth a dominating performance as they topped the Tigers 25-13, 25-12, 25-18 in a North Eastern Conference matchup.

Leading the way for Fox Valley Lutheran were Annalise Patchett with 13 kills and seven digs, Emma Nilson with 13 kills and three digs, Ava Patchett with 15 assists, five aces and five digs, Molly Bixby with 19 assists, five aces and five digs, and Riley Schmitz with two aces and 24 digs.

Oconto Falls 3, Little Chute 0

OCONTO FALLS - The Panthers proved to be too much for the Mustangs as they posted the 25-14, 25-8, 25-17 North Eastern Conference victory.

Leading the Oconto Falls attack were Morgan Moynihan with 18 assists, Izzy Otto with 14 assists and eight aces, Amber Otto with 12 kills, Lucy Ripley with nine kills and Bailee Gorman with six kills.

St. Mary Catholic 3, Hilbert 0

FOX CROSSING - The Zephyrs swept the Wolves 25-13, 25-17, 25-10.

Leading the Zephyrs were Lauren Fischer with 12 kills, six digs and five aces, Stella Virlee with 17 assists and four aces, Rhiannon Reichenbacher with eight kills and Sammi Weiss with 12 assists.

Kaylie Hernke had six kills and Mariah O’Leary had three kills for Hilbert.

Wittenberg-Birnamwood 3, Shiocton 2

SHIOCTON - The Chargers outlasted the Chiefs in Central Wisconsin Conference action. Wittenberg-Birnamwood posted a 25-23, 13-25, 17-25, 28-26, 15-10 triumph.

Leading the Chargers were Lily Metropulos with 23 assists and 23 digs, Melaina Granquist with 13 kills and four block kills, London Metropulos with 19 kills, Kaydence Burclaw with five aces and 18 assists, and Layla Huffman with 10 kills.

BOYS SOCCER

Kimberly 1, Appleton North 0

KIMBERLY - Liam Paradiso scored at 24:07 in the first half for the game’s only goal to lift the Papermakers over the Lightning.

Andrew Walters had the assist on the goal.

Kimberly goalie Noah Sommer had two saves.

Hortonville 3, Kaukauna 1

KAUKAUNA - Owen Vedder scored two goals and Dylan Glad also scored to lead the Polar Bears to the victory.

Hortonville goalie Nathan Bolling made five saves.

Oshkosh West 1, Appleton East 0

APPLETON - Collin Carns scored the lone goal for the Wildcats in the victory over the Patriots.

Owen Ervin had eight saves in goal for Oshkosh West.

St. Mary Catholic 6, Sheboygan Falls 1

SHEBOYGAN FALLS - Kieran Barrientos scored three goals and Braeden Brenn added two as the Zephyrs cruised to the Big East/Eastern Wisconsin Conference victory.

Alexei Quinonez also scored for the Zephyrs.

SMC scored three times in the first half, before the Falcons scored their lone goal in the second half.

Shawano 3, New London 0

SHAWANO - Warner Beyer scored two goals and Drake Herm also scored for the Hawks in the victory.

Shawano goalie Andrew Van Den Huevel had eight saves.

Kewaskum 6, Freedom 3

FREEDOM - Tony Drontle scored two goals and Dillon Wedin also scored for the Irish in the nonconference loss.

Freedom goalie Eric Wolf made eight saves.

Appleton East 5, Oshkosh North 2 (Tuesday)

OSHKOSH - The Patriots scored four goals in the first half in the victory over the Spartans.

Alexis Vera scored three goals for Appleton East. Jalen Thao and Sevie Koss also scored.

Thao had two assists. Vera, Koss and Owen Mineau also had assists.
