APPLETON - The Lightning defeated the Patriots 25-12, 25-8, 25-20 in a Fox Valley Association match.

“Our girls executed at a high level,” Appleton North coach Steve Scheuerell said. “It was great to get a win against a scrappy and well-coached Appleton East team.”

Emerson Van Lannen led Appleton North with 23 assists. She also had nine kills. Ella Demetrician had 12 kills. Teegan Charapata had nine kills and six digs. Chloe North had six digs. Maggie Hahnke had eight digs.

Kimberly 3, Kaukauna 0

KAUKAUNA - Ava Reis had five aces and 14 kills to help lead the Papermakers to a 25-20, 25-22, 25-20 win over the Ghosts in Fox Valley Association action.

Also leading Kimberly were Emma Tesch with 13 assists, Ava Van Hammond with 13 assists and 22 digs, Ava Van Camp with 18 digs, Kylie VerBockel with three block assists, and Kendyll Brochtrup with four block assists.

Hortonville 3, Appleton West 0

HORTONVILLE - Marin Grossman had 14 kills for the Polar Bears in a 25-17, 25-12, 25-11 victory over the Terrors.

Paige Lillie had 19 assists, Addi Bryant had 10 assists and Molly Fischer had four assists for Hortonville. Fischer added 14 digs, Lily Berrens had seven digs and five aces, and Bry Kluess had six kills.

Xavier 3, New London 0

APPLETON - The Hawks cruised past the Bulldogs in Bay Conference action 25-13, 25-12, 25-20.

Leading Xavier were Mariah Potter with 21 assists; Elle Downs with two kills; Ali Tylinski with four kills; Grace Hackl with four digs; Belle Shea with two assists and 12 digs; Halle Vande Hey with seven kills, two blocks and four digs; Mattea Kiepert with two kills and three aces; Sydney Neilitz with five assists; Annika Kowalski with five kills and seven aces; Liv Neumann with four kills and three blocks; and Madison Daley with five kills and two blocks.

Fox Valley Lutheran 3, Freedom 1

APPLETON - The Foxes outlasted the Irish in North Eastern Conference action, winning 25-18, 23-25, 25-11, 25-13.

Leading Fox Valley Lutheran were Annalise Patchett with 16 kills, two assists and nine digs; Emma Nilson with nine kills, two aces and five digs; Sophie Wunderlich with eight kills and five digs; Ava Patchett with 14 assists and five digs; Molly Bixby with 23 assists, two aces and 13 digs; and Riley Schmitz with 24 digs.

St. Mary Catholic 3, Iola-Scandinavia 0

IOLA - The Zephyrs defeated the Thunderbirds 27-25, 25-13, 25-15 in a nonconference match.

St. Mary Catholic was led by Lauren Fischer with 11 kills and 10 digs, Sammie Weiss and Stella Virlee with 13 assists each, and Eliana Brenn with six kills, six digs and five aces.

BOYS SOCCER

Hortonville 4, Waupaca 0

WAUPACA - The Polar Bears’ Dylan Glad scored twice to lead Hortonville to the win over the Comets.

Cade Mansfield and Hayden Hasseler accounted for Hortonville’s other goals.

Roman Glad had a pair of assists for Hortonville.

Nathan Bolling had three saves in goal for Hortonville, which improved to 10-4-3 with the win.

St. Mary Catholic 4, Cedar Grove-Belgium 0

FOX CROSSING - Kieran Barrientos scored three goals to lead the Zephyrs to the win over the Rockets.

Braeden Brenn scored St. Mary Catholic’s other goal. He also had two assists. Grant Bergstrom also had an assist for St. Mary Catholic.

Luxemburg-Casco 5, Little Chute 0

LITTLE CHUTE - Johan Amador scored three goals and had an assist for the Spartans in the North Eastern Conference win.

Rylen Hinckley and Zak Patek both added a goal and an assist for Luxemburg-Casco.

Spartans goalie Carson Koller made one save. Corwin Brewer also played but didn’t need to make a save. Mustangs goalie Blake Moberg had 10 saves.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Kimberly 3, Madison Memorial 1

KIMBERLY - The fifth-ranked Papermakers started fast and held off 10th-ranked Memorial 25-17, 25-15, 24-26, 25-23 in nonconference action.

The win moves Kimberly to 28-6 overall.

“Madison Memorial is a fantastic team and probably the biggest at the net in the state,” Kimberly coach Matt Seidl said. “They forced us to recycle and put together multiple swings during rallies. I was proud of how our team overcame everything to close out a tight match against a top team. This will do nothing but help us moving forward. Great win.”

Statistical leaders for the Papermakers included Brady Koester with 12 kills and four aces; Owen Krause with 14 kills, three aces, 16 digs and three blocks; Gage Stahmann with 44 assists; Lucas Eckrose with three aces and 10 digs; Kameron Kemp with 19 digs; Noah Schipper with three aces and four digs; and Michael Janssen with 10 kills and three blocks.
