OKC Thunder: Chet Holmgren, Jalen Williams, Cason Wallace tabbed NBA All-Star Rising Stars

The OKC Thunder's Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren and Cason Wallace have been selected to play in the NBA Rising Stars Challenge during All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis on Feb. 16.

The Rising Stars Challenge is a four-team tournament that consists of 11 rookies, 10 sophomores and seven NBA G League players. Holmgren and Wallace will represent the rookies, while Williams will represent the sophomores.

Williams represented the rookies in last season's Rising Stars Challenge. The former No. 12 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft is averaging 18.7 points, 4.5 assists and four rebounds per game this season.

Holmgren was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, but he's considered a rookie because he missed all of last season due to a foot injury. He's averaging 16.7 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game this season.

OKC selected Wallace with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. He's averaging 6.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game this season.

All-Star Weekend will be a busy one for OKC's players. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was recently named a starter for the Western Conference in the All-Star game on Feb. 18.

NBA Rising Stars Challenge rosters

NBA rookies and second-year players will be drafted onto three teams at 3 p.m. CT on Tuesday, Feb. 6. The fourth team will feature G League players.

  • 10 a.m.: NBA All-Star Practice at Gainbridge Fieldhouse (NBA TV)

  • 1 p.m.: HBCU Classic (Winston-Salem State vs. Virginia Union) at Gainbridge Fieldhouse (NBA TV, TNT, ESPN2)
