The Rush: Bryce’s deal with Phillies will outlast human civilization

WATCH THE VIDEO ABOVE to see today’s piping-hot, fresh-outta-the-oven episode of THE RUSH with Jared Quay! We’ll let you know everything you didn’t know you needed to know about sports. Other stuff too. But mostly sports.

It’s Friday, March 1, 2019, and here’s what Jared’s cooking up:

  • Bryce Harper ended the speculation and signed a 13 year, $330 million deal with the Phillies. The deal runs until 2031. Long after the zombie apocalypse, Bryce Harper will still be playing for the Phillies.

  • Jason Witten un-retired yesterday. The Pro-Bowl tight end turned terrible announcer turned washed up tight end signed a deal to play for the Cowboys, who are clearly assembling an All-Retired squad.

  • At the combine, Kyler Murray was measured to be bigger than some NFL teams had feared. He’s comparable in height and weight to Russell Wilson, which should end any talk that he’s too small to succeed professionally.

  • Dirk Nowitzki hinted that he may not retire at year’s end. It’s great news for Mavericks fans but potentially embarrassing for Doc Rivers who stopped a game this week to give a speech praising Dirk. He may need to offer a retraction.

THE RUSH with Jared Quay will be back next week. In the meantime, check out all archived episodes of The Rush here, plus Yahoo Sports’ other Rush program:
