Texas A&M alumnus Kevin Smith selected for 2024 class of College Football Hall of Fame

Another Texas A&M alumnus has been selected to be enshrined in the College Football Hall of Fame.

Cornerback Kevin Smith became the 12th Aggie to be chosen for the honor and will be inducted as a member of the Class of 2024.

Smith was a first-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys in 1992. He spent his entire career with the Cowboys and won three Super Bowls. Smith hauled in 20 interceptions throughout his nine years in Dallas and was a second-team All-Pro selection in 1996.

During his time in College Station, Smith was a consensus All-American in 1991. He was also a three-time All-Southwest Conference selection. Smith was inducted into the Texas A&M Athletic Hall of Fame in 1997 as arguably the greatest defensive back to ever wear Aggie Maroon & White.

The other 11 inductees include defensive end Ray Childress (2010), running back John David Crow (1976), safety David Elmendorf (1997), defensive lineman Jacob Green (2019), RB Joel Hunt (1967), fullback John Kimbrough (1954), tackle Charlie Krueger (1983), linebacker Dat Nguyen (2017), FB/LB Jack Pardee (1986), guard Joe Routt (1962) and RB Joe Utay (1974).
