Texas basketball player Gavin Perryman has entered the transfer portal, a Texas official confirmed Monday.

Perryman, a reserve guard from Dallas, played just 11 minutes this season and tallied a total of 49 minutes in his three seasons at Texas, which included a redshirt season in 2021-22. A fan favorite because of his enthusiasm on the bench, Perryman was also a legacy player for the Longhorns. His father, Brandy, played four years for Texas from 1994-98 and remains among the program's all-time leaders in made 3-pointers, free-throw percentage and consecutive made free throws.

Perryman, who will graduate from Texas with a bachelor's degree this spring, is the second Texas player to enter the portal, joining little-used forward Alex Amenekwe.
