Tennessee Titans sign DL Trevon Coley for more depth on defensive line

The Tennessee Titans added another veteran piece in their defensive line room Monday, signing Trevon Coley.

Coley has been in the NFL since 2016 and last played in an NFL game in 2020. He has appeared in 44 games, making 31 starts, with the Cleveland Browns, Arizona Cardinals and Indianapolis Colts. He has 3.5 career sacks and 100 tackles. Since he last saw the field in 2020, Coley has spent time on practice squads with the New York Jets and Chicago Bears, as well as a brief stint with the Titans in 2021.

In order to make space for Coley on the roster, the Titans waived veteran safety A.J. Moore.

Coley is the second veteran defensive tackle the Titans have signed in as many weeks. The team also added Kyle Peko last week, who made his preseason debut Saturday against the Minnesota Vikings. Coley and Peko add depth in a defensive tackle group that also consists of Jeffery Simmons, Teair Tart, Jayden Peevy and Naquan Jones, though Jones has missed a chunk of time in training camp.

The Titans play their final game of the preseason at 7:15 p.m. Friday vs. the New England Patriots at Nissan Stadium. The team will have to cut its roster from 90 players to 53 by Aug. 29.
