Recap: Tennessee Titans score 14 points in 51 seconds to earn comeback win vs Miami Dolphins

The Tennessee Titans have won away from Nashville for the first time this season in stunning fashion.

The Titans, down 27-13 with 2:45 left, came from 14 points down in the final three minutes to win 28-27 over the Miami Dolphins on Monday at Hard Rock Stadium.

Will Levis and the Titans offense scored two touchdowns in 51 seconds to flip the game on its head following two Dolphins touchdowns off of Tennessee turnovers.

FINAL: Titans 28, Dolphins 27; Titans defense closes out the game with 4th down sack

On 4th and 2 near midfield with less than 30 seconds left, Tua Tagovailoa is sacked by Harold Landry. Game over. Titans will complete a remarkable comeback victory despite three awful mistakes earlier in the game.

Will Levis finishes 23-of-38 with 327 yards and one touchdown (and a two-point conversion) with an interception and a fumble.

Titans 28, Dolphins 27, 1:49 left 4Q: Titans march down the field, re-take the lead late

Will Levis begins the drive by finding DeAndre Hopkins for 36 yards. Four plays later, Derrick Henry runs through a Dolphins defender for a 3-yard touchdown run.

Nick Folk's PAT is good. Titans lead by 1. What a drive. Can the Titans defense complete the comeback?

Titans get the ball back

Tua Tagovailoa is short on third down, and the Titans offense will get the ball back with a chance to take the lead. Wow.

Dolphins 27, Titans 21, 2:40 4Q: Will Levis leads quick drive to cut Dolphins lead to 6

Will Levis leads a quick scoring drive, finding DeAndre Hopkins for a 3-yard touchdown. Levis then finds Nick Westbrook-Ikhine for the two-point conversion. Dolphins' lead is 6. Hold all tickets. Tennessee has all three timeouts.

Dolphins 27, Titans 13, 4:34 4Q: Titans fumble leads to another Dolphins TD, two-score lead

On the Titans' next offensive drive, Will Levis' pitch to Derrick Henry is high and wide. Bradley Chubb recovers the rolling fumble at the Titans' 12-yard line.

Three plays later, Raheem Mostert punches in a touchdown from 5 yards out. All the sudden, the Dolphins lead by 14.

Eric Garror's massive mistake gives Dolphins life, the lead

A Harold Landry third down sack forces a Dolphins punt. For reasons that only Eric Garror will know, the Titans punt returner tries to field a bouncing punt among a Dolphins player and a Titans gunner. Miami recovers the ball at the Titans' 7-yard line.

Two plays later, Raheem Mostert scores on a 2-yard touchdown run. Dolphins lead 20-13 with 5:34 left.

Unbelievably bad mistake by Eric Garror. The Titans special teams has a new coordinator in Tom Quinn, but continues to impact the game with game-changing mistakes.

Dolphins 13, Titans 13, 12:37 4Q: Titans defense holds once more in red zone

The Dolphins offense sputters again in the red zone, and Jason Sanders has to kick a 31-yard field goal to tie the game in the fourth quarter.

Tyreek Hill was a big part of the drive. Hill caught a 23-yard pass on the first play to get the drive going, and he caught a 25-yard reception to set up 1st and goal.

But Tagovailoa again can't convert for a touchdown. The Dolphins QB ran for a short gain, threw an incomplete pass and was sacked in another dreadful Dolphins goal-to-go sequence. Can't ask for more from the Titans defense tonight. Dolphins offense has averaged 5.6 yards per carry but either can't run the ball in the red zone or won't for some reason.

Titans 13, Dolphins 10, 9 seconds left 3Q: Titans drive to take the lead

Another solid drive by Will Levis and the Titans offense, which included a leaping grab by Derrick Henry for a first down and a Tyjae Spears 30-yard catch and fumble that went out of bounds and stood upon review.

But the Titans can't cash it in on goal-to-go. Nick Westbrook-Ikhine dropped a possible touchdown on a tough chance on 3rd and goal. Nick Folk's 23-yard field goal is good.

Tennessee's rushing attack has not been good today, which didn't help in that goal-to-go situation. Henry and Spears have combined for 21 carries and 55 yards.

Tyreek Hill returns for Dolphins' second possession of second half

Tyreek Hill is back in the game for the Dolphins after the Titans punt to end their first drive of the half.

Hill had been out since late in the first quarter with an ankle injury.

Roger McCreary left the game in the previous drive but returned.

Dolphins 10, Titans 10, 9:35 left 3Q: Titans defense forces short Dolphins FG

The Dolphins offense moves down the field to start the second half, including a questionable Cedric Wilson catch on the sidelines for 22 yards. But the Titans defense holds again in a goal-to-go situation, and the Dolphins decide to kick a 20-yard field goal on 4th and goal from the Tennessee 2-yard line. Curious call by Mike McDaniel.

The game is tied. First points by the Dolphins offense all game.

HALFTIME: Titans 10, Dolphins 7

Will Levis throws an absolute dime to a falling DeAndre Hopkins for 45 yards to set up a Nick Folk 28-yard field goal for the lead at halftime.

Hopkins also had a 24-yard catch on the previous play to jumpstart the drive that started on the Titans' 21-yard line with 28 seconds left.

Dolphins offense is shut out in the first half, and the Titans offense moved the ball well in the second quarter.

Denico Autry blocks field goal, keeps game tied

The Titans defense has been good on third down and in their own territory. After an Arden Key sack leads to a Dolphins field goal attempt, Denico Autry blocks the 44-yard field goal try by Jason Sanders. Autry has two blocked kicks this year. He's been very good at that throughout his career.

Dolphins 7, Titans 7, 6:53 left 2Q: Derrick Henry TD run caps off impressive drive for Will Levis, Titans offense

Derrick Henry's 1-yard TD run out of the wildcat caps an impressive 86-yard drive for the Titans to tie the game.

Some key plays in the drive: A Chris Moore 22-yard catch-and-run that moved the Titans into Miami territory, a Will Levis escape and third down scramble that was short of the line to gain except that Bradley Chubb was called for a personal foul after throwing his helmet and a Levis 11-yard run to the 1.

Levis twice tried to run through Dolphins defensive backs to middling results. But the game is tied.

Titans defense holds again; Tyreek Hill injured

Amani Hooker nearly intercepts Tagovailoa on a third down play in Titans territory. Dolphins punt early in the second quarter.

Tyreek Hill got his left leg pinned a bit on a tackle and was in considerable pain on a quick catch. He did jog off the field after a few moments and didn't go immediately into the injury tent, but he did not return to the game during the rest of the drive.

UPDATE: Hill is questionable to return with an ankle injury.

Xavien Howard, Raheem Mostert and Jaylen Waddle have all returned for Miami. Connor Williams has been ruled out with a knee injury. Dolphins now are playing without three OL starters.

Titans offense struggling against Dolphins' front

Will Levis and the Titans offense do get a first down, on a nice throw to Chig Okonkwo in tight coverage, during drive No. 3, but it ends with a third-down sack by Christian Wilkins.

The Titans have 12 total yards in 11 plays through three drives.

Dolphins 7, Titans 0, 8:25 left 1Q: Will Levis makes awful decision that leads to a Zach Sieler pick-six

The Titans offense is backed up, and a third-down screen pass by Will Levis is intercepted by defensive lineman Zach Sieler who rumbles 5 yards for a touchdown.

Tough, tough start for Levis. He threw it right to Sieler, who was in front of Tyjae Spears. That was his biggest mistake as the Titans starting QB.

Tua Tagovailoa fumbles inside Titans' 10-yard line, Tennessee recovers

Tua Tagovailoa fumbles the snap on the Titans' 2-yard line, recovers and fumbles after being hit by Jaleel Johnson. TK McLendon recovers the ball. Nice stop for the Titans defense on play No. 9 of the Dolphins' opening drive.

The bad snap comes a couple plays after Dolphins starting center Connor Williams was helped off the field with an injury. Liam Eichenberg moved over from guard to center.

Miami still may score a lot of points tonight. But not yet.

Key Dolphins players banged up early

Three key Dolphins contributors have already either been helped off the field by team medical personnel or limped off on their own.

After the third down incomplete pass on the first drive, cornerback Xavien Howard came up limping and eventually laid down on the turf for a few moments. He was helped off the field and walked into the Dolphins injury tent.

Running back Raheem Mostert limped off the field after a first down run for no gain on the Dolphins' first drive. He returned to the game moments later.

On the next Dolphins snap, Tua Tagovailoa threads a pass into the middle of the field to Jaylen Waddle, who was blasted by Amani Hooker in the chest. No flag, and it did appear to be a legal hit. Waddle walked off and went into the injury tent after staying down following the hit.

We'll update when available.

Titans go 3-and-out to start the game

Titans receive the opening kickoff and go 3-and-out. David Long, now a Dolphins linebacker, gets a first down TFL. Will Levis threw a third-down incomplete pass into tight coverage, and here comes Ty Zentner. Zentner's first punt is 47 yards with no return. Not bad.

Charged-up crowd in Miami.

A note: Treylon Burks started and got an early touch in the drive. Should see more action for him tonight.

Titans-Dolphins inactives: Two key defensive starters out

As expected, Jeffery Simmons, Kristian Fulton and Josh Whyle are among the inactives on Monday.
