Tennessee football: Vols’ season-opening game results since 2000

Tennessee will kick off its 2022 season Sept. 1.

The Vols will host Ball State at Neyland Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. EDT and SEC Network will televise the season-opening matchup.

The 2022 campaign is the second under head coach Josh Heupel.

Tennessee went 7-6 (4-4 SEC) in 2021 under Heupel. Tennessee reached the postseason for the first time since 2019, losing 48-45 in overtime against Purdue in the TransPerfect Music City Bowl.
