Tennessee baseball to play two fall exhibition games in Greeneville, Nashville

Tennessee baseball announced Wednesday fall exhibitions against Virginia Tech and Samford.

The Vols will play Virginia Tech on Oct. 22 in Greeneville in a game hosted by Tusculum University and then face Samford on Nov. 5 in Nashville at First Horizon Park.

Lindsey Nelson Stadium is unavailable for exhibitions due to ongoing renovations. Tennessee hosted Wake Forest at Lindsey Nelson Stadium in an exhibition in October 2022 before facing Memphis in a neutral-site game in Jackson in November 2022.

UT reached the College World Series in 2023 for the second time in coach Tony Vitello's tenure and the sixth time in program history.

Tickets for the game at Tusculum are available for $10 online or at the Tusculum athletic department offices. An official start time for the game has yet to be determined. Tickets for the game in Nashville range from $10 for concourse level to $20 for club level. The game will start at 2 p.m. ET.

Samford reached the NCAA Tournament and played in the Auburn Regional, knocking Southern Miss to the elimination bracket with a win in the opening game. Samford lost its next two games, including an elimination game against Southern Miss. UT beat Southern Miss in the Hattiesburg Super Regional to reach the College World Series.

Virginia Tech was 30-23 in the 2023 season.

The Vols return key pieces in pitcher Drew Beam and hitters Blake Burke, Zane Denton and Christian Moore.
