Who is the Taunton Daily Gazette Player of the Week for Jan. 8-14
TAUNTON— Another week of winter high school sports has come and gone in the Greater Taunton area.
Last week, Bridgewater-Raynham/West Bridgewater gymnastics kicked off their season while Taunton boys basketball, girls basketball, hockey and wrestling all continued to perform well. Dighton-Rehoboth girls basketball earned their first win of the season while the hockey teams of Southeastern/Bristol-Plymouth, Dighton-Rehoboth/Seekonk and East Bridgewater/West Bridgewater/Bridgewater-Raynham/Bristol-Plymouth/Southeastern/Middleboro all look to be on the upswing.
The Taunton Daily Gazette Athlete of the Week for Jan. 1-6 is Southeastern/Bristol-Plymouth's Thomas Ledger, who won with 61% of the vote. Bristol-Plymouth girls basketball's Emma Ericson came in second with 15% while Taunton boys basketball's Dray Thielker received nine percent to finish third.

Ryan Donovan, Bristol-Plymouth
Donovan had 22 points against Diman.
Sam Courcy, Dighton-Rehoboth
Courcy had 17 points against West Bridgewater.
Girls Basketball
Cali Melo, Taunton
Melo had 16 points against Mansfield.
Brenna Woodbury, Bridgewater-Raynham
Bartlett had a double double of 17 points and 10 rebounds, as well as five assists, against North Quincy.
Mari Albon, Bristol-Plymouth
Albon had eight points against Southeastern.
Lucy Latour, Dighton-Rehoboth
Latour had seven points and seven rebounds against Nipmuc.
Boys Hockey
Cayden Clancy, Taunton
Clancy had a pair of goals against Stoughton/Brockton.
Ronan O'Malley, Bridgewater-Raynham
O'Malley had a goal against Falmouth.
Andrew Flanagan, Southeastern/Bristol-Plymouth
Flanagan had a pair of goals against Diman/Durfee/Westport.
Adam Bastis, Dighton-Rehoboth/Seekonk
Bastis had a hat trick and an assist against Narragansett/Chariho (R.I.).
Girls Hockey
Grace Ogilvie, West Bridgewater/East Bridgewater/Bridgewater-Raynham/Bristol-Plymouth/Southeastern/Middleboro
Ogilvie had a goal and an assist against Leominster.
Gymnastics
Lily Moreira, Bridgewater-Raynham/West Bridgewater
Moreira won the all around with top scores on the vault (9.15), bars (9.2) and floor (9.2) against Notre Dame Academy (Hingham).
Boys Indoor Track
Dmitrius Shearion, Taunton
Shearrion won both the 55 meter dash (0:06.7) and the 300 meter (0:35.39) in a double dual meet against King Philip and Franklin.
Kauan Bento, Bridgewater-Raynham
Bento won the 300 meter (0:36.88) and finished second overall in the 55 meter dash (0:06.55) at a Southeast Conference meet.
Girls Indoor Track
Braelyn Nichols, Taunton
Nichols finished fourth overall in the 600 meter with a time of 1:49.66 in a double dual meet against King Philip and Franklin.
Molly Jesson, Bridgewater-Raynham
Jesson won the 1000 meter with a time of 3:33.53 at a Southeast Conference meet.
Boys Swimming
Blake Couto, Taunton
Couto finished second in the 500 yard freestyle and fourth in the 200 yard freestyle against Milford.
Girls Swimming
Abigail Fernandes, Taunton
Fernandes won both the 200 yard individual medley and 500 yard freestyle against Milford.
Wrestling
Landen Rodrigues, Taunton
Rodrigues won both of his matches in a tri-meet against Methuen and South Shore Tech.
Luke Driscoll, Bridgewater-Raynham
Driscoll won the 175 lb. weight class at the Woburn Invitational.
Jack Ramondetta, Bristol-Plymouth
Ramondetta defeated Cohasset's Dean Livermore 2-0 at the Cohasset Quad Meet.
Ryan Moitoso, Bristol Aggie/Dighton-Rehoboth
Moitoso defeated South Shore Tech's Layne Morrisey 15-0 in a dual meet.
