Tar’Varish Dawson changes transfer destination

After announcing his new home just over a week ago, a former Auburn wide receiver has had a change of heart.

Former Auburn wide receiver Tar'varish Dawson announced Monday that he has flipped his transfer destination from the Cincinnati Bearcats to the Colorado Buffaloes.

Dawson says that his relationship with Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders was the deciding factor.

“I mean, my city back home is a reason,” Dawson said to Hayes Fawcett of On3. “Everybody loves Deion and wants to play for him, and we are from the same city. So why not? I got my old high school coach there. Deion coached me once on his 7v7 team. My family loves Deion and they know he will take good care of me.”

Dawson, a 5-foot-11, 165-pound native of Lehigh Acres, Florida has three years of eligibility remaining.

Dawson was originally a four-star recruit with a 0.8959 composite rating according to 247Sports. He was the No. 351 ranked player in the class of 2021 and the No. 54 ranked player in the state of Florida.
