Tar Heels make small jump in Joe Lunardi’s latest bracketology

The UNC basketball program took the first step toward making a run to the NCAA Tournament by beating Boston College on Wednesday night in Greensboro. UNC never really trailed and had command of throughout.

The win advanced North Carolina to Thursday when it faces No. 2 Virginia in a quad 1 opportunity. Getting past Virginia would be huge for the Tar Heels’ NCAA Tournament hopes.

After beating Boston College on Wednesday, the Tar Heels saw a bump in Joe Lunardi’s latest bracketology on Thursday. Lunardi moved UNC up one spot past Wisconsin after the Badgers dropped their game to Ohio State.

UNC went from team No. 72 to team No. 71 in the first four out category of the bracket. They still are behind Arizona State and Nevada.

As for the last four in, the Tar Heels need to make up ground on Penn State, Rutgers, Oklahoma State and Utah State. Each of those four teams are in action on Thursday.

The most important thing for the Tar Heels is to take care of business ahead and beat Virginia. Then worry about what other teams are doing on the bubble.
