Swim teams pick up wins

Dec. 20—It was a good day in the pool for Boone County swimming and diving teams on Tuesday night.

Both Lebanon and Zionsville swept their opponents in the pool during co-ed dual meets.

Lebanon hosted Southmont, and won the boys meet 133-38 and girls meet 91-60.

On the girls side, the medley relay team of Martita Sheets, Anna Hale, Paige Howard and Jessie Stevens won in 2:16.49. The 400-free relay team of Hale, Stevens, Madalaine Luchetta and Martita Sheets won in 4:41.47.

The Lebanon girls went 1-2 in the 200-IM, with Stevens winning in 2:44.59 and Kylee Rodriguez placing second in 2:52.31; in the 50-free with Bea Johnson winning in 27.59 and Howard placing second in 27.79,

Hale won the 200-free in 2:12.88 and backstroke in 1:08.66, Johnson won the butterfly in 1:14.15 and Rodriguez won the breaststroke in 1:26.11.

Sheets was second in the 500 in 7:37.08, the 200-free relay of Rodriguez, Karis Woodard, Madalaine Luchetta and Johnson was second in 2:07.27.

The Lebanon boys team of Tate DeLaRosa, Beck Stevens, Taylor O'Brien and Eli Taylor won the medley relay in 2:08.70. The team of Camden Perrine, Jack Howard, Agustin Prescott and Tim Popovitz won the 200-free relay in 1:45.75 and the team of Howard, Jonah Primus, Popovitz and Parker Lawson won the 400-free in 3:59.31.

Lebanon went 1-2-3 in the 50-free, with DeLaRosa winning in 26.08, Tim Popovitz placing second in 28.57 and Taylor placing third in 29.26; in the 100-free Parker Lawson won in 56.89, with Jack Howard placing second in 57.14 and DeLaRosa placing third in 59.29; and in the backstroke with Grayson Goff winning in 1:01.66, O'Brien placing second in 1:03.02 and Kalvin Burdine placing third in 1:28.54.

The Tigers went 1-2 in the 200-free, with Camden Perrine winning in 2:02.76 and Parker Lawson placing second in 2:05.05; in the 200-IM with Grayson Goff winning in 2:13.87 and Jack Howard placing second in 2:26.26; and in the breaststroke with Perrine winning in 1:14.84 and Stevens placing second in 1:24.09.

Ryden Vickery won diving with a score of 129.40, O'Brien won the butterfly in 1:05.08, Jonah Primus won the 500-free in 6:05.50.

Lebanon is back in action on Thursday.

Zionsville

The Eagles hosted Center Grove and swept the Trojans, with the girls winning 114-72 and the boys winning 107-76.

The Eagle girls won the medley relay, with the team of Molly Simmons, Maddy Akin, Annabel Hermacinski and Maggie Hadley winning in 1:49.88. The 200-free relay team of Hadley, Akin, Ava Metzger and Annabelle Swiney won in 1:40.64, and the 400-free relay team of Hailey Paulick, Simmons, Metzger and Swiney won in 3:37.77.

Ava Metzger won the 200-free in 1:57.61 and the 500-free in 5:19.53, Annabell Swiney won the 50-free in 24.41 and the 100-free in 53.18, Akin won the breaststroke in 1:06.98,

Akin was second in the IM in 2:13.18, Grace Whitfield was second in diving with a score of 198.55, Hermacinski was second in the butterfly in 1:00.82, Hailey Paulick was second in the 100-free in 55.62, Kira Hunter was second in the 500 in 5:25.82, Simmons was second in the backstroke in 59.17.

The medley relay team of Colin Walrond, Lew Sams, Brady Hinshaw and Caleb Kuntz won the boys race in 1:37.97. The 200-free relay team of Walker Mattice, Walrond, Hinshaw and Toby Dollens won in 1:29.91 and the 400-free relay team of Mattice, Toby Dollens, Eli Dollens and Nikita Hovyadinov won in 3:17.53.

Walker Mattice won the 200-free in 1:44.95 and the 100-free in 48.08, Nikita Hovyadinov won the 200-IM in 2:00.97, Hinshaw won the 50-free in 22.20, and Lew Sams won the breaststroke in 1:00.75.

Kuntz was second in the 50 in 22.69, Noah Berg was second in diving in 1:02.85, Toby Dollens was second in the 500 in 5:07.26, and Hinshaw was second in the backstroke in 56.28.

Zionsville faces Carmel and Homestead on Dec. 27.
