Stock up, stock down following the Bills’ 14-9 win over the Giants

The Buffalo Bills faced the New York Giants at Highmark Stadium in Week 6 and won 14-9. Here’s Bills Wire’s stock report following the win:

Stock down: QB Josh Allen

Allen did not have his sharpest game on Sunday night against the Giants. While he ultimately led the Bills to victory, Allen had some moments that were less-than-ideal and one of those instances resulted in an interception. In the end, Allen did what he had to do to keep Buffalo in the game, but he most likely would want some of the plays that he made back.

Stock down: RB James Cook

After being shut down by the Jaguars in their Week 5 matchup, Cook bounced back with a solid performance against a tough Giants defense that gave Buffalo trouble all game long. This game was a defensive slugfest, but Cook still found creases in the defense when he needed to in order to rip off some big runs.

Stock up: WR Stefon Diggs

Due to the nature of Buffalo’s offense, which is to use the pass to set up the run, Diggs will usually make this list. Sunday against the Giants was no different as he was a dependable target for Allen whenever he needed someone to throw to. Diggs is having another excellent season and he’s a huge part of Buffalo now having a 4-2 record.

Stock down: WR Gabe Davis

Davis did not have many opportunities to make an impact Sunday night against the Giants as he earned only four targets in a game in which Allen threw the ball just 30 times. With that being said, Davis, who has been making big plays for most of this season, just wasn’t able to find any daylight against the Giants’ secondary.

Stock up: CB Taron Johnson

Aside from the controversial play that sealed the win for the Bills over the Giants, Johnson had a big game on Sunday. Johnson, who had 15 tackles (9 solo), was crucial in pass coverage as the Giants had some struggles in their passing game as well. Johnson did what he had to do to prevent Giants tight end Darren Waller from cleanly catching a pass to beat the Bills.

Stock down: DE Leonard Floyd

Floyd was part of a defensive effort that did a decent job of keeping the Giants offense under wraps aside from a few mistakes made. As has been said before, until Von Miller is back to his usual self, which probably won’t be for awhile, Floyd has to be more impactful as a pass-rusher and he wasn’t that against the Giants.

Stock up: LB Terrel Bernard

Bernard has been getting better each week for the Bills and now, he has to make up for the loss of All-Pro LB Matt Milano. So far, Bernard has done a great job of stepping up his game and against the Giants, he was a critical part of keeping Giants RB Saquon Barkley from causing too much damage.

Stock down: K Tyler Bass

To put it bluntly, Bass had a bad game kicking the ball. While he was tasked with some tough kicks to attempt, both were 50-plus yard kicks, Bass was 3-for-3 on kicks of that distance coming into Sunday night’s game. His misses did not cost Buffalo the game, but he has to be better in the future.
