Steve Kerr shares thoughts on Warriors’ successful five-game road trip

The Golden State Warriors completed their five-game road trip with a 4-1 record. As a result, they have maintained their hold on 10th place in the Western Conference. Steve Kerr’s team is two games ahead of the Houston Rockets, who are in hot pursuit of a potential spot in the play-in tournament.

When speaking to the media following the Warriors’ win over the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday, Kerr praised his team’s recent production. He noted Golden State’s recent performances signify a good team.

“Fantastic trip,” Kerr said. “Particularly after losing the first one in tough fashion. For the guys to bounce back, win four straight games on the road, that’s a sign of their competitiveness and their grit. Even though it wasn’t pretty tonight, they got it done. … To be one the road for eight days, and do what we just did, that’s the sign of a good team.”

The Warriors’ recent stretch was much needed. They have been inconsistent throughout the season. Their record on their home floor is most concerning. Nevertheless, the Warriors came into this road trip needing a string of solid performances and rose to the occasion.

Golden State has eight games remaining on its schedule. With a two-game cushion over the Rockets, Kerr will want his team to keep up their current pace and secure an opportunity to claw their way into the playoffs. If they can achieve that goal, anything will be possible in the postseason.
