The Steelers need to take a shot on QB Josh Rosen

When I first saw the Miami Dolphins were releasing quarterback Josh Rosen, I took note. I wasn’t overly high on Rosen when he was in the 2018 NFL draft but there’s no denying he has some physical tools and a solid resume. because of this, I feel like this is a great opportunity for the Pittsburgh Steelers to take a shot on Rosen with nothing to lose.

At this point, Mason Rudolph is the team’s No. 2 quarterback. Nothing Devlin Hodges or Paxton Lynch is going to do on the field will change that. You might not view Rudolph is the longterm answer but this is a debate for another day.

And in terms of upside, good luck making a case Hodges or Lynch have any potential to be the Steelers starter of the future.

So what I propose is the Steelers cut ties with those two quarterbacks, sign Rosen and let him learn under Ben Roethlisberger and quarterbacks coach Matt Canada. Could there be a better situation to find out if Rosen has starter potential?

There’s no good argument against bringing in Rosen over Hodges or Lynch unless you rushed to judgment and bought a Hodges jersey last season when Duck Fever was spreading across Steeler Nation.
