New Steelers OC Arthur Smith cites culture of team as perfect fit

On Friday, the Pittsburgh Steelers officially announced Arthur Smith as the new offensive coordinator. It was reported earlier in the week that the former Atlanta Falcons head coach was the team’s pick.

If his first interview since the announcement is any indication, Smith should fit right in with what head coach Mike Tomlin believes and he is fully on board with embracing the culture of this team and its values.

“It’s such a unique opportunity to be able to work for an organization like the Pittsburgh Steelers,” Smith said. “With the history and the culture here, and the opportunity to work with Mike Tomlin, to me it’s a perfect cultural fit.”

Now that we have established the culture fit, we can see if Smith’s offensive philosophy can work with the Steelers and what personnel changes will need to happen. Be sure to keep checking back and we dig into all the angles of Smith and what his hire means for the Steelers.
