Steelers add defensive assistant coach from Ravens staff

According to Baltimore Ravens beat writer Jeff Zrebiec, the Pittsburgh Steelers have fired Baltimore assistant defensive line coach Jason Brooks to be a defensive assistant.

Brooks has been with the Ravens since 2009 and has held a variety of coaching positions up until 2013. He was an assistant to the offense, quality control coach, assistant defensive line coach and something called a football analyst. After 2013, Brooks returned to coaching college before coming back to the Ravens in 2021.

It isn’t clear what Brooks’ role with the Steelers will be. Brooks is the second hire of the offseason for the Steelers coaching staff. Earlier in the offseason, Pittsburgh hired Aaron Curry to be the team’s linebackers coach.
