The Okemos girls soccer team has been among the best in the state this spring and was unbeaten until falling in a state-ranked showdown against Rochester Hills Stoney Creek on Monday.

And because of their strong resume, the Division 1 No. 4-ranked Wolves lead the field for the CAAC Cup.

Okemos, which claimed the CAAC Blue title, is the top seed in the Gold Cup. The Wolves own the eighth-best Michigan Power Rating figure, which accounts a team's success and strength of schedule, of any team in the state regardless of division.

Competing with Okemos for the Gold title will be CAAC Red champion Mason, Red runner-up Williamston and Blue runner-up DeWitt. Mason, which is ranked No. 6 in Division 2, is the No. 2 seed. Williamston, the No. 3 seed, was the Gold Cup runner-up last season after falling to Haslett in the title game.

Okemos (10-1-2) owns wins over each of the other teams in the Gold Cup. The Wolves beat Mason, 1-0, earlier this month and beat DeWitt by the same score on April 20. Mason has 1-0 wins over both Williamston and DeWitt.

Okemos hosts DeWitt to open the Gold Cup on Tuesday, while Mason will host Division 3 No. 5 Williamston. The winners will play in the title game Thursday.

East Lansing leads the field for the Silver Cup and hosts Grand Ledge on Monday. Haslett hosts Division 2 No. 15 St. Johns in the other Silver matchup.

The Bronze Cup field is led by CAAC White champion Eaton Rapids, which hosts Fowlerville in a Tuesday matchup. The other Bronze semifinal features Holt hosting Lansing Catholic.

Portland leads the five teams in the Copper Cup. Ionia, Everett, Waverly and Charlotte make up the rest of the field.
