Standout pitchers and hitters: Our High School Baseball All-Scholastics
The Milton High baseball team made history last spring.
This spring, too.
The 2022 Wildcats claimed the program's first-ever state championship. The 2023 Wildcats couldn't beat that accomplishment, so they equaled it, going back-to-back with another victory over King Philip in the state final, this time by a 6-2 score at Worcester's Polar Park.
Milton was the lone South Shore team to claim a title in 2023, although Abington came close, losing in the Div. 4 championship game to Seekonk.
In all, 25 local teams qualified for the playoffs with Whitman-Hanson making it to the Div. 2 semifinals (the Panthers lost to Milton), and BC High (Div. 1), Bridgewater-Raynham (Div. 1) and Plymouth North (Div. 2) all getting to their respective quarterfinals.
