St. Johns County preview: First-round high school soccer playoffs, Class 2A
The Florida High School Athletic Association soccer playoffs begin Tuesday for boys and girls teams in Classes 2A through 4A. All schedules are as listed by the FHSAA but are subject to change.
BOYS SOCCER
REGION 1-2A
Harvest Community (4-3) at St. Joseph (6-8-1)
6:30 p.m. Tuesday
A rematch of the first round from two years ago, a 1-0 Flashes victory. Junior striker Kyle Jackson accounts for 70 percent of St. Joseph's goals. The visiting Warriors are seeking their second consecutive opening-round win.
GIRLS SOCCER
REGION 1-2A
St. Joseph (6-8-2) at St. Johns Country Day (12-2-5)
5 p.m. Tuesday
The 14-time champion Spartans start a new playoff quest against a St. Joseph team that they just beat 8-0 in the district semis, with a Sydney Schmidt hat trick and two goals from Cece Nowicki. Belle Alford leads St. Joseph with 14 goals.
