Southern Miss football live score updates vs. Troy in 2023 season finale
HATTIESBURG — Southern Miss football's season finale is here.
The Golden Eagles (3-8, 2-5 Sun Belt Conference) play host to Troy (9-2, 6-1), the West Division champion.
Troy's wins have been against Stephen F. Austin, Western Kentucky, Georgia State, Arkansas State, Army, Texas State, South Alabama, ULM and Louisiana. Its two losses both came in September, against Kansas State and James Madison.
A win for Southern Miss would be its third in the final four games of the season after dropping last week's game at Mississippi State.

Frank Gore Jr. tried to lateral to Ethan Crawford as he was being brought to the ground, but Troy freshman Chris Rodgers scooped up the ball and ran 40 yards for a Troy touchdown with 5:37 to play in the third quarter.

Troy went down the field in nine plays, capped off by a Gunnar Watson 2-yard touchdown pass to Ethan Conner with 9:23 remaining in the third quarter.

Gunnar Watson threw a 13-yard touchdown to Chris Lewis to give Troy the lead back with 9:03 to play in the second quarter.

Frank Gore Jr. is already up to 129 scrimmage yards following a 57-yard touchdown run to give Southern Miss the lead with 10:41 remaining in the second quarter.

Southern Miss had a first-and-goal from the Troy 5-yard line, but three straight runs by Dreke Clark didn't reach the end zone. Andrew Stein kicked a 19-yard field goal with 13:21 remaining in the second quarter.
