South Kortright wins heavyweight clash versus rival Wildcats 80-71

Feb. 2—In a battle between league rivals as well as two of the top boys teams in the area, South Kortright outlasted Charlotte Valley for an 80-71 home win Friday night.

Connor Quarino finished with 39 points to lead the Rams in the win. Boston Quarino and Darren Dengler each scored nine points while Logan Reinshagen and Jacob Staroba added eight points apiece.

Ezra Ontl and Trevor Waid led the way for the Wildcats, scoring 25 and 24 points, respectively, in the losing effort.

South Kortright (16-2 overall, 7-0 league) and Charlotte Valley (14-4, 5-2) will both be in action next Wednesday in the Delaware League playoffs.

Cooperstown 73, New York Mills 60

Cooperstown won its Senior Night game over New York Mills 73-60 Friday night.

Charlie Lambert led the Hawkeyes in the win with 27 points, eight assists, seven rebounds and four steals.

Cooper Bradley had a double-double of 14 points and 12 rebounds while Conrad Erway pulled down 13 rebounds and Cooper Coleman and Brody Murdock scored 10 points apiece.

Cooperstown (10-8 overall, 4-4 league) will be at Morrisville Tuesday.

Schenevus 60, Hunter-Tannersville 36

Schenevus secured a 60-36 home win over Hunter-Tannersville in Friday's non-league matchup.

Allen Osborne and Jackson Reed scored 15 points apiece to lead the Dragons' offense while Ethan Reed added 11 points.

Connor Schiefer was H-T's top scorer with 13 points in the loss.

Schenevus will host Gilbertsville-Mount Upton Thursday in a Tri-Valley League playoff game.

Worcester 71, Gilbertsville-Mount Upton 53

Worcester took down Gilbertsville-Mount Upton 71-53 at home Friday.

Tyler Head and Matt Sanders each had big games, with Head scoring 24 points with seven rebounds and Sanders recording a double-double of 23 points and 12 rebounds.

Elsewhere, Derek Land had 14 points and four assists while Ryan Prince finished with 10 assists and eight rebounds to go with two points.

Noah Pain led G-MU with 20 points while Devon Hartwell followed close behind with 18.

Worcester (9-8 overall, 4-4 league) will face Windham-Ashland-Jewett Saturday.

Sharon Springs 52, Windham-Ashland-Jewett 41

The Sharon Springs boys defeated Windham-Ashland-Jewett 52-41 in a non-league game Friday.

Mike Cashman hit five three-pointers as part of a 25-point performance in the win. Ethan Mickel added 18 points.

Leading WAJ in scoring were Payton Dempsey with 15 points and Tyler Lashua with 10.

Sharon Springs will be at Worcester next Thursday for a Tri-Valley League playoff game.

Sherburne-Earlville 70, Richfield Springs 46 (Thursday)

Richfield Springs fell to Sherburne-Earlville 70-46 on the road Thursday.

Landen Schultz had 16 points while Juston Wolfe and Bradyn Dunckel each added nine in the loss.

Nick Hull tallied a game-high 23 points for S-E.

Richfield Springs falls to 12-5 and will conclude its regular season when they visit Canastota Tuesday.

The Oneonta girls fell on the road to Susquehanna Valley 54-36 Friday.

Hayden LeFever recorded a double-double of 14 points and 16 rebounds in the win. Jordan Bellinger added 11 points and six rebounds while Isabella Giacomelli pulled down eight rebounds.

Oneonta will host Norwich Tuesday.
