South Kortright girls hold on for one-point road win

Jan. 17—The South Kortright girls basketball team held off a late Charlotte Valley comeback effort with a defensive stop at the buzzer in a 34-33 win on the road Wednesday.

Addy Eckert led the Rams with a game-high 21 points while Madysen Reeves added eight points in the win.

Ella Gerster had 16 points to pace the Wildcats while Brinlee Wright added eight points in the loss.

South Kortright will host Margaretville Friday while Charlotte Valley will visit Stamford/Jefferson the same day.

Delhi 50, Harpursville 24

A dominant defensive performance helped the Delhi girls defeat Harpursville 50-24 on the road Wednesday.

The Bulldogs allowed just six points in the first half to take a 26-point halftime lead.

Natalie Vredenburgh had a strong all-around game with 21 points, eight rebounds and four assists.

Lexi Davis, meanwhile, scored 10 points, Danielle Ennist had eight points and 10 rebounds and Tyler Abts notched eight points and eight steals.

Adrianna Hartwell led Harpursville with 16 points in the loss.

Delhi (9-2) will be at Oxford Friday.

Seton Catholic 50, Oneonta 29

The Oneonta girls fell at home to Seton Catholic 50-29 Wednesday.

Selene Wellman scored eight points in the loss while Kylie Carr had 10 rebounds and Hayden LeFever grabbed 10 boards.

Erin Derr and Lucy Atkins scored 13 and 12 points, respectively, for Seton Catholic.

Oneonta will be at Chenango Forks Friday.

Walton/Downsville defeated Unadilla Valley 51-30 Wednesday at home.

Grace Walley led the way with a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds while Eve Foster added 10 points in the win.

Jaiden Schrag had 12 points for UV while Natalie Crandall scored nine.

W/D improves to 8-5 and will visit Unatego next Tuesday while UV will host Unatego Friday.
