South Bend area high school football: Week 1 scoreboard and recap
SOUTH BEND — It's Week 1 of high school football action in the South Bend region and local teams have clean slates heading into the 2023 season. For South Bend Clay, it's the final season as the school will close next spring.
Mishawaka, NorthWood, New Prairie and LaVille all enter the season ranked in their respective classes. Mishawaka hosts crosstown rival Marian to highlight Friday night's games. Clay, meanwhile, is trying to win its first game since September 2020 when it hosts Hammond Noll, a team that has lost 17 games in a row.
