Sources: Pelicans star Anthony Davis has no structural damage in injured left knee
New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis has been diagnosed with no structural damage in his injured left knee, league sources told The Vertical.
Davis felt the pain during warmups before Tuesday’s road loss in Portland, and tweaked the knee approximately five minutes into the game and sat out the remainder of the night. Davis underwent an MRI that showed swelling and no damage in the knee, and will be listed as day-to-day, league sources said.
Davis averaged 31.7 points, 17.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.8 blocks in three games before Tuesday. He had two points and one rebound on Tuesday night, and the Pelicans fell 103-93 despite 39 points and 13 rebounds from DeMarcus Cousins.
Davis and Cousins are off to stellar starts this season for the Pelicans, but the team is 1-3 heading into Cousins’ return to Sacramento on Thursday night.
